for those that don't know, "Toby Fox's Hand Pain Echoes in Deltarune's Piano Struggles" is trending on twitter. ... cute. everyone in the posts is saying how noble it is that toby keeps wanting to play piano for his game, and it's true, but the synopsis of the posts says that it's the reason for the piano parts just being bad, and i'm really tired.

first of all, they're not bad, they're beautiful, and secondly, as a disabled person who also couldn't do what they loved due to injuries, and fought tooth and nail to get back to it, i hated the rags to riches story everyone tried to keep pushing on me. yes, i bounced back and persevered despite the pain. no, i don't want to be patted on the head and talked down to because of it.

you guys have got to stop acting like disabilities are something cute and desperate. toby's piano parts aren't bad. it fits perfectly with the story. of course it would, he's probably writing from the heart about these things. but damn, if i opened social media and saw a headline like that??? i don't have to imagine it, because it's happened to me before.
