do you ever start writing a comment on the internet and then think âoh what the fuck am i going on aboutâ and delete it
I also enjoy writing an entire paragraph, thinking "you know, I don't actually need to be involved in this conversation," and deleting it
ok sorry to double reblog BUT I just looked him up and he does these fantastic videos where he breaks down HOW he actually mimics the other artistsâ styles. Like for ed Sheeran, he explains how he brings his voice forward in the mouth, while Adam Levine sings in the back of the mouth, stuff like that. Itâs SO COOL, I donât think Iâve ever seen anyone actually break down how to do this sort of thing, as a skill, instead of just treating it like a neat trick they just happen to be good at. https://www.tiktok.com/@justinjmooremusic
Check him out heâs so cool

they used to make smackable technology. you used to be able to hit your tv when it didn't work good.
when I was a kid I had an old tv in my room that would always turn to unwatchable static in the middle of shows but one night my sister and I were watching Naruto & every time Kakashi was on-screen the static cleared so we were like âhahaha the tv looooves Kakashi.â
I had a Kakashi bookmark so we held it up against the screen as a joke but the static actually cleared up. Mystified, we tried different bookmarks and objects with the same plastic material but nothing else worked, only the Kakashi bookmark.
We ended up taping it to the corner of the screen and it stayed there for 11 years until we moved out. When I was older people would be like âcan you move the bookmark off the screenâ bc it did sort of block a bit of the view but I would demonstrate the static issue and everyone was always just like âhuh. what the hell?? wellâŚalright.â
No explanation, but thanks Kakashi.
I had a similar tv! It was a tv with a built in dvd and vcr because it was in college and Iâm apparently old now. But! The dvd player never wanted to play- unless it was Chicago (2002). First, we would put that dvd in, let it start, and then swap it for the movie we really wanted to watch. It got to the point where we would put in the dvd we wanted and sing âhe had it coming!!!â At the screen at volume. Fucking worked *every time*
Bizarre.
I miss when technology had real personality, instead of fake ones designed to generate lies and nonsense and spy on you.
A friend of mine told me about this nun who was going on 90 in early 2010s. Not the cloister type of nun, but one living with some of her sisters in a regular apartment in a regular city and worked regular jobs to help others in the name of the lord and such.
So naturally a regular apartment for regular jobs in the 2010s has a computer. Said Computer had broken. Technicians were called. They tried all day, but couldn't fix it. They'd come back the next day.
In the middle of the night, my friend goes to the bathroom and passes the computer room. The 80-something year old nun, who barely knows what a computer even is, is in there.
She stands before the monitor (which, to her, is the computer), sprinkling holy water and declaring that the power of the lord shall compel it. Repeatedly and with the unwavering faith only a very elderly nun could have. The power of the lord shall compel it, as that is what the power of the lord does.
The next day it was fixed.
She has passed away by now, but was privately elevated to 'Elisabeth, patron of technical difficulties'.

I just googled this and⌠yes, itâs absolutely real.
And there are so many articles and videos and discussions. Like, the scientific community is buzzing about this.
So much research will have to be redone because the data was absolutely compromised, off by orders of magnitude, by using standard lab gloves.
The world is probably not horrifically contaminated by microplastics. Sterile laboratories, however, are contaminated by latex and nitrile gloves.
Thank God someone bothered to check.
>I just googled this and⌠yes, itâs absolutely real.
Sources beyond dude just trust me, for the skeptics.
Scientists may have been unknowingly inflating microplastics pollution estimates, and the surprising source could be their own lab gloves. A

Ordinary Lab Gloves May Have Skewed Microplastic Data: That doesnât mean microplastics arenât a problem, though
That should be enough
how did they not fucking account for this. sorry but this is really really stupid
this is so funny.
@3liza they didnât account for it because they didnât realize it was an issue. The particles the gloves are shedding are not microplastics but they are similar enough in composition and under an electron microscope that because the scientists didnât know to account for them, they didnât realize thatâs what they were seeing.
Also they DID account for contamination in WET sample preparation, because theyâd already learned previously that the nitrile gloves could contaminate wet samples, but this was the first discovery that they were contaminating DRY or AIRBORNE samples as well.
All of this was very clearly laid out in just the last provided link - i didnât even have to read all of them to learn this, I read like 3 paragraphs of the nautil.us article and I was able to learn what happened and why it hadnât been accounted for.
Like, I understand the frustration, but this is the sort of thing that has to be DISCOVERED before it can be accounted for, and this is what that kind of discovery looks like, and berating scientists for not already knowing something science hadnât yet learned is kind of a pointless and bad faith approach to things.
Weâve learned that a lot of the studies done on microplastics in our environment were not actually accurate, and had unintentionally incorrectly inflated numbers of microplastics in their samples due to this issue, which means that while microplastics are still obviously a problem, theyâre not as overwhelming large of a problem than we thought! This is a good thing! Science has done its job and we have learned new things and can now do even better science! Thereâs no reason to be angry at or berate the scientists whoâve gone before. We know better now. Thatâs the important part.
The people who insist AI is smarter than a human are doing their fucking damnedest to manifest that
