i must say that i do really like it when reddit users look through other redditors' post history so they can do violence to them
on my "don't walk to metlife" post I kept seeing people say that drivers would "bergentruck" pedestrians on the turnpike and it turns out that that's a reference to an Undertale meme where a character purposefully runs over people, but the portion of the jersey turnpike that goes to metlife is bergen county, and I had just instantly accepted that there was a term specifically referring to jersey drivers from there. I didn't even question it. Neither would you, if you had ever driven there.
posters: if you try to walk on the jersey turnpike they will bergentruck you without hesitation.
me, unfamiliar with undertale memes, but familiar with driving through north jersey: fuckin yeah they will.
Isn’t it interesting how a form of privilege (being rich or white) will cancel out a form of oppression (misogyny) when it comes to women, but when it comes to men, it's the opposite? A form of oppression (being poor, disabled, gay, black, etc) will cancel out a form of privilege (being a man)? 🤔🤔🤔
at least in nyc, for the price of one set of acrylic nails, you could instead go to the beach by subway every single saturday for the entire summer. alternatively you could go see three movies in the theater, or take yourself out for a couple cozy dinners, or cap off the workday with live jazz every night for an entire work week, or visit two or three medium sized museums. you could also just save it. sock it away for an emergency. or buy a weirdass vintage lamp or something. you have options, when it comes to treating yourself. nobodys saying you can't have fun. just think about what more you could do for the same damn price as crippling your hands costs. you'll be absolutely amazed at what you find.

get you a man who can do both
one of my patients came in for an emergency visit, because she snapped the wire on her retainer watching the movie when MBJ took his shirt off she clenched her teeth so fucking hard she snapped it. that is the fucking funniest shit ever to me this tiny 17 year old girl thirsting so goddamn hard she busted steel
Y'all, it gets better. She found out.
We interviewed her, obviously.
update:
Such a developing story.
I love this story
This was a wild ride from start to finish
I know I say this a lot, But this is one of the best things on this website
Sophia is currently doing great in college, and I still get about one kid a month in the office who asked if this really happened.
I found it!! The original post!!
HAS SHE SEEN SINNERS
Preferably when she wasn’t wearing the retainer.
A woman made a tiktok claiming to have been fired by Doordash because she reported a male client who sexually assaulted her. She had a video of the event too: the door of his home was wide open and he was laying on the couch, penis exposed, and face hidden by a hoodie. Supposedly, he's unconscious.
She reports him to the app, sending the video too, and Doordash fires her and deletes her account, so she does what people nowadays have to do to receive a lick of justice: she posts it censored on TikTok.
People believe her for the matter of 12 hours, if not less. After that, the Doordash company makes a statement saying that she was lying and that she had been fired because she shared the video. Mind you, the video was shared after the firing.
From that moment on, the app is flooded with comments from what are very clearly bot accounts that tell another story entirely: the woman found the door cracked, opened it further, and went inside his home. Doctored screenshots started making the rounds too, as well as bots and people claiming to have seen the video that proves this alternate sequence of events. No one seems to be able to share the link of this damning proof against the woman.
Then think pieces started, with tiktokers with huge platforms (thousands if not millions of followers) saying that the woman is the assaulter and the man is the victim, and asking stupid questions (what if he was high, ordered food, started to jerk off, and fell asleep? What if he doesn't like to wear pants at home and the door opened by itself? What if he had a medical emergency? What if he's narcoleptic? What if a thousand monkeys with typewriters could type Shakespeare's entire body of work?).
This woman documented an assault (because indecent exposure is a form of sexual assault) and people still decided they prefer believing the words of a mega corporation that's known for union busting and slavery practices.
It doesn't matter how well a female victim handles things and how thorough she is in the documentation of what happened to her, people will always pick her apart, find faults in her actions and behavior, and call her a liar.
Imagine a bee rn in a hive muttering "the beekeeper is not real because he is not intervening or helping me at all with this disastrous relationship I have with another bee". now imagine that's you talking about the good lord. now imagine a dog with a propeller hat on
Filing this in my memory right next to this thread:
is anyone imagining a dog with a propeller hat on

it's nice to see ppl peaking but also a bit ego bruising that you were able to no scope the pseudo-science of gender identity 12 years ago and got labeled a terf, but now when other people say it cause they're peaking now ppl will be like wow....why was no one talking about this. well I, a normal and not hateful woman, was talking about it. but history will not remember me. oh well. <3
*has a thought and has to scroll back to where I was on the tumblr dashboard to remember it*
can someone please be proud of me like fuck I’m trying
reblog to let prev know you’re proud of them
David Sedaris’s opinion on the word queer, and a few dumbass fucking idiot comments.
one and only smart comment:
these people want to be able to claim "weirdness" and "avant-garde-ness" without having to actually define whether they are gay or straight or bisexual (probably because they're straight). but thanks for once again lumping same-sex-attraction in with weirdness and unconventional lifestyles when gay activists worked for literal decades to say "hey, we're just like you, we're normal people who just happen to like the same sex". it's funny how all these people all calling david sedaris old, and saying he just doesn't get it. well maybe you're young, and YOU just don't get it. you don't get how queer was and is used as a derogatory slur especially towards gay men, and specifically used to call homosexuality WEIRD and STRANGE, and so maybe david is confused why suddenly non-gay people are adopting the word to call themselves weird and strange for being kinky or having threesomes. YOUUUUU don't it, he gets it more than you, you gen-z spicy straight queer. "maybe I don't want to invoke exactly who I have sex with" okay then don't come out?? don't come out as queer then...? you want to come out at queer, but not tell anyone who you have sex with. good plan. so you want the social cool point and oppression points without actually coming out of the closet, sorry but you can't have both. if you don't want people questioning who you have sex with, maybe don't mention your queerness. that's like announcing that you're a very pious religious person, and then when people ask what religion you practice, you're like "I don't want to invoke exactly what religion I practice". then maybe don't bring it up?? and claiming that david "doesn't want to make space for anyone else"... yeah maybe he doesn't want to make room for spicy straight polyamorous kinksters to be lumped together with him as a homosexual man.... I think that's pretty fair! inclusivity is not always good and positive. exclusivity is not inherently mean, problematic or evil. we don't have to make space for everyone. you can tell most of these people are not actually homosexual or bisexual, otherwise they wouldn't have felt called out by what david said. whatever, have fun with your threeway, but leave gays and lesbians out of it please.

Tbh, when it comes to abortion, I really don’t give a shit about debating when life begins. I couldn’t care less about drawing the line between a “baby” and a “clump of cells”.
What I care about is bodily autonomy. Pregnancy causes major changes to a woman’s body, many of which are permanent. Giving birth is infamously painful and difficult. It’s not something that a woman should have to go through involuntarily. Bodily autonomy is where my personal feelings on abortion begin and end.
