Hitler justified his invasion of Poland by claiming that there were German cities in Poland, that German people were suffering, and he also faked the operation to make it seem like Poland had struck first. It's all a lie, but the purpose of this lie is clear: to gain new territory and justify their actions with this lie in order to achieve their goal. He mostly didn't even care whether there would be casualties among "their people" or not. With his orders, he literally killed people, innocent people, people of the "pure race" he promised to protect, killed those minorities he said in his speech that they would not suffer.
