never going to stop being grumpy that Compulsion hired a French white guy to compose the music that attempts, and fails, to emulate African American music for South of Midnight and hired a white country artist to sing the already very-mid murder ballad and put European musical chords, singing conventions, traditions, lyrical styles, and compositions into the instruments and trappings of the South and even had a few black artists sing for a handful of songs that weren't written by them and were sung in white American folksong style instead of black American folksong style (which is very different musically) , and then having the audacity to claim it was a celebration of black southern cultural heritage and music. Do better.
