My Syl,
I know weâve never been traditional. Iâve asked myself a thousand times why the fuck weâre doing this, but I know I could never even think of it with anyone else. I wonder if youâre nerves are trembling half as hard as mine are.
Hereâs a littleâŚ

Syl jumped slightly as her hand came to his mechanical shoulder. Breath caught in his chest as his eyes closed, never more had he wished he had been wearing his goggles than in that moment. Slowly he turned to her, a wide smile drawn across his lips as he brought an arm to wrap around his would be bride. He let her go on, his earâs twitching slightly as she mentioned them not going in, his heart seeming to stop in his chest. His fingers gently squeezed her shoulder as he drew her into him, his soft gaze falling down upon her as that smile grew wider across his lips. âLike fuckin hells this is fer them!â He nearly snarled the words out, yet softly and in such a way his tone got her attention over anything else. The hand on her shoulders gave another gentle squeeze as that smile spread. âThis is fer ya, doll. Anâ fer me. Fuck all them.â He gestured through the door, surely where all their âhonored guestsâ were waiting, a large gathering of thieves, murders and cons in nice clothing. âIâm âere fer ya. Iâm âere cause whaâ I feel fer ya is mer than whaâ I coulâ ever feel fer anoâha woman. I canâ bring mahself ta be wih anoâha when I âave ya. I proposeâ never thinkin this day woulâ come, sah if ya dun wanâ ih, then we geh on a ship an sail inna the sunseâ. Ya an meh, nah quesâionâs askeh.â He smiled wider to her as he spoke, his breath still caught in his chest, his heart still frozen as he awaited her answer. He meant what he said however, he never expected this day to come, if backing out now meant keeping her, then heâd be just as happy.
Shyril was still for a long time, the wind catching the unfamiliar curves of the lengthy dress in chilly fingers as her forehead burrowed into a familiar spot upon her lifemateâs chest. There hadnât been another, for either of them, since a cool night on a Stranglethorn beach. It was hardly a change she was planning to make now.
The redhead breathed in deeply, inhaling Sylâs scent and smilng as she noted the thin hint of motor oil, sharp and familiar. Lithe fingers splayed across his back momentarily, her words spoken into his shirt. âYou proposed knowing Iâd never marry you, didnât you?â She echoed, finally offering a tilt of a pointed chin so her gaze could meet his much higher one.
The femme didnât need an answer. Instead her lips pulled into a smile as she nodded, cementing a decision in her mind. Her head turned, settling on those wide double doors that held promises of both heaven and hell within them. Knowing sheâd have the man on her arm every step of the way made prying it open not only worth it, but the only course of action even worth considering.
âWell. We both know I donât do well with expectations. Time to prove you wrong, Captain Arash.â

Sylâs arm remained wrapped gently around Shy, softly cradling the petite woman to his much larger form. As they stood in silence, that caught breath remained trapped deep within his chest. The buttons of his shirt beginning to strain against the spread of his chest. His attention just danced across Shy, that smile untouchable on this day. Normally heâd found his mate trapped in something leather, or at the very least stained in oil and grease but today, her beauty was etheral, leaving him completely stunned and disarmed.
His brow quirked upwards at her question, a soft chuckle rumbling past his lips as that breath was finally released. He nodded to her, his smile twisting into a playfully wicked grin. âOh course I dih. If ya remembah, the firsâ thing ya saiâ ta me the nighâ we lefâ fer our firsâ da'e was thaâ ya wouldnâ sleep wih mehâŚâ His voice trailed off into a taunting growl as that grin flicked impossibly wide. âI figureâ yaâd make me pay fer thaâ one fer the resâ of our lives tagetha.â He squeezed her tightly against his form, the comment clearly one of jest. âBuh seriously. I didnâ think eitha of us woulâ eva -ac'ually- wanna be righâ âereâŚâ
As his voice fell off again, she ineruptted him in a way he hadnât expected. He stood there, just like she had before, completely silent and unmoving. All he did was blink for a few seconds, though they felt like an eternity, then suddenly it was broken by a gentle chuckle and the shake of his head. âReally Doll? Yer abouâ ta marry meh jusâ ta prove a fuckin poinâ?â He drew pause as he stepped up behind her, pushing the door open with his mechanical hand. âIf there was ever a reason ta geh marrieâ.â blameitonshymg
âOh. I intend to.â The redhead smiled, an expression reserved for him and few others as her hands buried themselves in the fabric of the suit, seeking familiar lines to steady racing nerves. âNowhere else Iâd rather be. Except maybe in the workshop that one time....â
Shyril let the words trail off with a deliberately mischievous smile. Clever fingers straightened his buttons, if only for something to do. The onyx ring with its beautiful ruby stones glimmered prettily upon her finger, a reminder of the road theyâd taken together.
His question provoked another grin and a glance over her shoulder. A single red curl bobbed across her line of vision, free from the elaborate styling that was already strained beneath the stubborn mass. âDonât act like you didnât plan it that way.â She murmured, a single eye flickering in a wink as she turned back towards the aisle. âWalk me?â She questioned, a single arm extended for his taking.
