i hate this school
I bought embroidery supplies ages ago with a dream of starting to visibly mend and embellish my clothes, and the picker wheel decided today was a good one to start learning. The knots gave me the most trouble, so I found this video. Watched it a few times and then practiced tying knots for a while. I'll probably still have to refer back to the video next time, but it's definitely a lot less daunting now.
I haven't drawn clouds in 2 years, And I forgot how to draw shadows on cubes
It's July, which means I'll be doing a daily art... thing... For this month, I've made a picker wheel with a bunch of different art projects that I've either already started or have been wanting to do. Some of them are specific (like painting pride yard signs over the old campaign signs in my garage) and some are general (like "paint", after which I'd roll a second wheel to decide what medium, and maybe a couple others to decide color/theme) and some are almost more chores than art (like painting the bench my dad made me that's been sitting in my garage for three years).
Every day that I'm in town I'll roll and spend at least ten minutes working on whatever it lands on. (I'll be out of town for five days in the middle of the month. I'll probably just draw on those days, but idk, I'll figure that out later.)
There are 36 total, and that's after removing two of them today. And they'll only be removed from the wheel if I complete them, so some may be rolled more than once and some won't be rolled at all, but by the end of the month I should, hopefully, have some progress made on a few things.
Today I rolled "fix skeleton". The hand snapped off my (almost) life sized skeleton three or four years ago and he's been hanging in the closet handless ever since, despite the fact that hot gluing it back on was like a two minute project. When I first opened the closet, I wasn't actually sure where I'd stashed his hand, but I found it... in his groin
A few short minutes later, it's back where it belongs, although with a bit less mobility than before. Look how happy he is!
And then, since I already had the hot glue gun out, I reglued some of my homemade Care Bear costume.
It's held up pretty well, especially considering I've used it almost every year, but the joint and some of the leaves were coming up a bit.
Feels pretty good to have two things done day one. I'll try not to be too disappointed when I don't keep up that pace.
