feeling sick to my stomach about rumors of recasting/casting for daredevil born again. just prefacing, my interest in the show will drop off significantly if elodie yung isn't coming back as elektra, and if they do recast her, i will be more disappointed if they erase the asian representation and cast a white woman. and while on that topic, kirsten mcduffie should be played by a black woman, i'm terrified they're gonna white-wash her character when most of her comic iterations have shown that she's black. i just hope they do right by these characters since its gonna be "all new"

also another thing, and this is a great point a mutual made in convo about this, that the writers seem to think vincent and charlie’s performances as their respective characters are the only thing that made the nmcu so great, but it was ALL of these actor’s performances. i just hope they don’t recast anyone if they can avoid it

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again. fanfiction is not an inherently subversive practice that is going to elevate art and save it. fanfiction is also not the scourge of all literature that is going to destroy art and debase it. fanfiction is literally just another lightly popular medium of writing and is capable of being good or bad. it’s not inherently uniquely good and it’s not inherently uniquely bad, it’s just a way you can write a story
