I feel like the popularity of psychology and related terms online has significantly increased the cases of 'main character syndrome', i.e. genuinely believing everyone you interact with is significantly invested in the trajectory of your life (and causing its downfall). A lot of what is taken as harmful or a red flag is simply behavior outside the social norm with a variety of reasonable explanations

saw a post about this earlier but it made me think: tumblr really is the only social media site where I go on and have a good time and then carry on with my day. Every other social media site is designed to make you angry for more engagement
