it is honestly kind of funny to take the stance that BMI isn't enourmously problematic because the weight classifications have been "adjusted" since its inception when the real problem of "it is literally just your height divided by your weight, which tells you fuck all about the status of someone's health" is still fundamentally there

the problem with bmi is that it classifies me as overweight even though i'm literally skinny :(

i feel like that's what a lot of fat politics over the last decades has really amounted to though. broadening the category of what's considered socially acceptable thinness while continuing to leave the fattest of fatties subject to medical pseudoscience and neglect

really sick of people telling me "ridiculous" cases of people being marked as obese by BMI standards on a post where i explicitly argue this is not in fact the problem with BMI

I miss nightclubs. I wanna go clubbing with the wierdos and kinksters and artists. I wanna dress up and go to a place where it is loud and crowded, but the people aren't all twenty-one and beautiful. I want my crusty old freaks and deviants, unjudgemental, there because they love it and it is their place. I wanna disappear into a crowd to just dance and vibe, but then to slowly feel like I belong there. I want to be among people who are honest and comfortable and just want to enjoy their bodies and their lives and their loves.

it's crazy how casually people will talk about wanting to lose weight and become thinner as if that's a normal thing to want or talk about, you are brainwashed

like do what you want with your body but stop assuming we all relate to wanting to be thinner idk
