I feel like every community, every creator, every internet space I have found solace in over the last 5 years has been destroyed. And not even just the public internet ecosystem. Personal server's I found community in get policed by supposed "centrists" who refuse to let anyone disagree with them. Conflict in my own IRL communities has made me feel unsafe and unwelcome. Extremists have pushed me out of hobby groups I used to love.

That video game channel you enjoyed are assholes. That media review and history channel you love post a weirdly conservative take. That chill aquarium channel is now super into AI. Discord is policing who can use it. The creators of video games you wanted to play reveal that they hate you and your rights. The one "good" subscription service suddenly does blatant copoganda. Oops! That indie creator turns out to be racist. That musician you love is using AI generated samples now. That educational channel you found comfort in during a dark time is saying positive things about the regime. The other one is using clickbait and mirroring conservative talking points. One of the most respected educational channels posts a video so poorly researched and so inadvertently sexist it makes you question every thing else they've said. This stupid website continues to get worse, but where else can you go? Everywhere else has already somehow gotten even worse than here. That funny tech youtuber you love says they don't want to "get political" in their videos. That guy who collaborates with all of those creators you love refuses to say "trans rights" and the entire community lets it slide after they do the bare minimum, even though many of the other ways in which they refuse to show support continue to poison the well. People you respected are still collaborating with that creator. You can't listen to your favorite podcast anymore since they continuosly talk around the issues that matter to you. The general unease that comes from how willing people are to participate in exploitation when it comes to merchandizing. Artists disrespecting other crafts. Your favorite entertainers separating after some vague hints at conflict behind the scenes.
