I know I say things like life isn’t a game/game isn’t to be taken seriously. The truth is, I often resent and fear my own seriousness. My best friend was a chaotic imp and so I still think maybe nothing matters? But also that’s self-destructive skepticism which leads to kicking open an unlocked door and running inside like it’s a fire exit. My run from bullheadcitythunderdome reminds me of this contention in body, because I want to embody a tenacity that continues against all odds, not a reckless risk that gambles itself for fun. Ir's not a crash-test bet, because sHe/they deserve to get out of crash-test conditions. I deserve to get out of crash-test/test crash conditions & into functional, if imperfect, dynamic systems, and I must remember my courage that comes not with boldness but with survival.

l’m torn between wanting my body to be beautiful because I want to be “normal”, and wanting my body to be useful because marginalized bodies are useful. & l want useful, as a way to push back against beauty norms, cuz like… it at least gives a justification for work & objectification
