Yesterday, I lost someone very special to me. I loved her very, very much. We had such a special bond. I am saddened, disheartened and devastated. 💔 She has been a strong pillar of support in all of my life. I can’t believe she’s gone. ⠀ Dear 婆婆, Through the past 1.5 months, we all thought how lucky you were to have avoided a COVID outbreak at your assisted living place by being admitted in the hospital earlier in March from a fall you had. The hospital was the safest place for you infection wise. Little did we know, you would’ve been transferred to a new, unfamiliar long term care facility which you needed to be self isolated for current COVID protocols. You passed away alone, all by urself, with no family around in a new, unfamiliar setting - the thing I KNEW you were most afraid of. I didn’t know your time was so soon. I was even looking forward to seeing you soon and cheering you up again. I worried so much about your mental well being because I knew how you felt about hospitals and being alone in them. Every previous hospital visit and doctors appointment you had, I would always be by your side. But this time I feel so guilty for not being by your side once. I’m sorry. I was afraid of my condition with the global pandemic to visit you in the hospital. I know you would understand and tell me to do the same thing. But I still can’t help but hurt. I know your death is not my fault, and I know that you know I tried many, many ways to keep being connected to you. *Thank you for all those who helped* But it still doesn’t change the fact that I’m devastated and feel like I should’ve done more. I will forever miss our sushi dates. I will forever miss your love for me. I will forever miss you. But now you will forever be close to me in my heart ❤️ I know you’re in a better place now. I know you’re not afraid or alone anymore. I hope you know that you were not abandoned and we all loved you very, very much so. I want you to know to not worry about me. In time, I will be ok. As I said before, it was a very painful and traumatic year in 2017. Already made the decision since beginning of 2018 to choose self love and heal myself. ⠀ Sometimes people love to twist the truth and bend their reality to make them feel better about the consequences of their actions - narcissistic tendencies. And I will not stand and allow for those type of people to be in my life - at all! ⠀ Sometimes people don’t respect your choices as well and push and push to see where your limit is at in a negative way. I will not stand for those type of people in my life at all neither! ⠀ At the end of the day, I can only stay true to myself. But I’m only human and can only take so much before I snap. Before I go to extreme measures to remove someone out of my life, which I did! ⠀ Once all my emotions settle down, I can’t wait to finally move onto the next chapter of my life that I’ve been working towards already for months.
