How to lose weight HEALTHILY.
So, again, I’m trying to lose weight but in the healthiest way possible. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I mentioned that I had a lot of very unhealthy eating habits and a lot of depressing thoughts about my body and how I looked. I’m still unfortunately not entirely happy with the way I am, but I’ve learnt to be grateful for my body; so I’ve done a lot of research on how I can better my body whiles doing it in a healthy way. It’s a win win situation; I get to lose weight and slim down, and look after my body whiles doing so.
I’m going to share with you everything I have learnt and what I am/will be doing:
1. Keto
I started the Keto Diet not to long ago and I was getting really good results from it, but then I started eating junk food, sweets and what not which kicked my body out of ketosis - but I’m back on track and have a stronger mind set now!
- Low Carb Diet.
2. Coffee, and lots of Green Tea!
Because I’m on the Keto Diet, I make myself a ‘Fat Coffee’ every morning for breakfast which fills me up up until late lunch time! It’s amazing - and then after that I keep topping myself up with green tea which helps suppress my hunger even more; prevents bloating and is just really good for digestive system.
3. Take Supplements
Taking food supplements will help (you can find these on Amazon)
Apple Cider Vinegar Capsules
Colon Cleanse Detox
Glucomannan Konjac Root Capsules
MCT Oil/Keto Capsules with Green Tea and Electrolytes
Raspberry Ketone Capsules
Rapid Burner/ Metabolism Support Capsules
Dandelion Supplements
Probiotic Supplements
4. Eat plenty of Eggs
I found that eating 2 hard boiled eggs before eating anything else helps with eating small potions and suppressing hunger for hours - and it’s a great source of protein if you’re a vegetarian like myself.
5. As less sugar as possible Keto means as little carbs as possible, so sugar is a no no as it stops your body from running on ketones instead of carbs as your source of energy. When your body is in Ketosis, it’s running on fat that’s stored in your body! -it’s a true blessing if you’re a bit over weight.
6. Counting my Calorie Intake
I learnt that a daily average calorie intake should be 2,000 calories for a women, and 2500 for a man, but if you’re looking to lose weight then you should be consuming 500 less calories a day. By counting your calories, you will keep track on whether you’ve hit your suggested calories for the day or gone over!
7. Exercise
Pretty obvious - burning calories is a very good back of losing weight.
8. Eating more Fibre
Fibre is really good for your digestive system as it helps your system flush out what’s in your system. It’s also know to lower the risk of a stroke, heart disease, diabetes and cancer. So chose food with fibre as it can also make you feel fuller, and prevents constipation!
9. Plenty of Sleep
Whiles you’re asleep, your body released a hormone calledLeptin from your fat cells which tells your brain that your full and suppressed hunger. When you’re not asleep, your body makes a hormone called Ghrelin and less Leptin which is telling your brain that you’re hungry, which then leaves you wanting to eat. Sleep is also very good for your mental health and muscle growth
10. Eating Whole Foods
What are whole foods? they’re foods that stay close to their state in nature like Meat, Poultry, and Seafood. Milk and Dairy Products. Nuts, Seeds, and Beans. Fruits and Vegetables. Basically; keep away from processed foods. Easy.
11. Lifting Weights
Don’t worry ladies and gentleman, weightlifting isn’t just about bulking yourself up - there’s a lot of other benefits to doing a bit of weightlifting. It improves your posture, results in better sleep, gaining bone density, maintaining weight loss, boosting your metabolism, lowering inflammation in your body and preventing chronic disease. Not bad if I do say so myself.
12.No Junk Food
Junk food contains a lot of fake, processed food, with high levels of saturated fats and sugars which is going to lead to your body processing and storing all that to your belly, thighs, hips, neck, arms and butt. It’s also going to clog up your arteries, effect
13. Intermittent Fasting
So, intermittent fasting is meant to change the whole game - by sticking to a routine with your eating, your body is going to make the most out of the food that you’re putting into it.At the moment, I stop eating by 8PM and I allow myself to start eating at 12 the next day. This allows my body time to digest the food that I’ve already eaten and then prepare itself for the next meal / coffee. A lot of people for hours and hours without any calories, and this lowers their insulin, higher ketones being used as body fuel and reviving their cells - for more information on the benefits, I suggest doing some research on google as there’s just so much!
