everyone knows that kids w divorced parents can have a rlly tough childhood but honestly let’s take a moment and consider the kids who’s parents never got divorced yet kept fighting and arguing every day… sometimes divorce is for the best option, both for partners and especially their kids

My mom says we can never understand what it’s like to grow up with one parent but we have always told her conversely she doesn’t know what it’s like to grow up with two parents who are physically and emotionally abusive towards each other

Divorce is not the worst thing that can happen to your marriage and it’s definitely not the worst thing that can happen to your kids.

Divorce has never ended a happy and healthy marriage

As an almost 30 year old who’s parents just divorced just like 3 years ago, I can relate. For years my brother and I would ask my mom why she didn’t just divorce my dad, and her answer was because she didn’t want to do that to us when we were kids and then she would feel too guilty about what might happen to my dad. Both my brother and I would 100% have lived with my mom and had limited contact with my dad and she was worried about how this would hurt his feelings and he’s got depression so she was worried that he would kill himself and she couldn’t live with the guilt. Like seriously, I would have loved to grow up in a single parent household instead of my miserable childhood, because when the adults are miserable, how are the kids supposed to be anything but? They were both so much happier and better off after they divorced, it was ridiculous. Don’t stay together for the kids, it’s not good for anyone.
