I don’t know if ridiculous is the right word. It’s more… suggestive. Like the penguins in Batman Returns were very clearly wearing something that could conceivably be protective.
The harnesses on these penguins looks like a discount Wish leather harness rocketing toward you at mach-fuck-off speed to wreck your shit.
It’s why I always target the Penguin in any line up he’s in with extreme prejudice. Those fucking birds do so much damage.
Of course, there’s also the hilarious fact that once you recruit Penguin into your underground secret bunker, that implies the exploding bondage penguins are just there, waddling about.
POV: You’re in the bar Batman added to the bunker for Enrichment so the bunker madness doesn’t set in within the first 24 hours of being trapped underground with Lex Luthor and whatever other villain decided to rock up because they didn’t like their chances on the outside.
