A few days ago after dropping off kiddo at summer school, hubs and I decided to just take a drive with no particular destination in mind. It kinda felt nostalgic looking out the car window seeing almost nothing but farmland. A lot of corn, cows, horses and one herd of sheep.
I think we drove around for over an hour. Maybe two hours. If we were prepared, we could've gone to the beach and walked along the shore. Eventually we came back to civilization and had lunch at a Mongolian BBQ places where you pick your food to put in a bowl and they cook it for you.
After that, we went and got groceries and came home. When we parked, we parked in front of one of the trees that's been planted in the front yard. I just happen to look and saw...
One of the local morning doves facing me in their nest. Last year and the year before, they were in another tree in our front yard closer to the house. Im guessing the sprinkler hitting the tree was too much for them. Still it was nice to see that this pair hasn't completely left our yard. π
I wish I were a cat. Then I'd get to cuddle ppl and meow my head off all day and maybe steal some of your food.

Like real mantis shrimp, Waves Garret will often go through a molt. He's extremely grumpy during this time so Fat Fin and Hook Shot give him his space. He tends to hide in his own shrimp sized burrow on the Keys so no one will disturb him. Though Hook Shot will come by with little gifts of food for him. It takes a lot of energy to shed!
He's absolutely insufferable after a molt. His new colors are always bold and beautiful and he'll strut around and expect people to compliment his bright colors π
