I don’t think we as a fandom (or maybe we do, I don’t actually look at a lot of fandom discourse and I just finished the book) talk abt how stratt was probably jealous of the astronauts (grace specifically because he’d also been at her side whilst building the project) but anyone who qualified and had the comatose gene, really. because she was so ready to give her life. she’d do it in a heartbeat. can you imagine how she must’ve felt when dubois and shapiro died? did she watch the hail mary launch and go ‘it should be me’?
