which like yeah no shit it doesn’t take an advanced understanding of coup-contrecoup brain injuries to grasp that repeated hits to the head can do some bad shit to your brain, but like. never fucking give any of the institutions involved in professional sports a single inch of slack about not fully understanding the medical consequences of contact sports. they know. they’ve known since the goddamn 1930’s and they will say a sport is safe now bc people don’t die during the season anymore and never lift another finger until they are dragged into it kicking and screaming. and if I see another person call a professional athlete soft or greedy when they are actively shaving off years of their life that might be spent homeless and unable to remember their own name, I am going to go Actually Fucking Apeshit!!!!!
