"I love you. ...That was for the potatoes, not for you."
just so we’re clear if you’ve never actually seen a cybertruck in person and have only seen photos of them i cannot stress enough how much worse they look in real life. like i honestly don’t know how it’s possible. most things look basically the same in pictures and in real life. but as stupid and ugly as cybertrucks look in photos, every person i’ve spoken to who has seen one in real life agrees that they somehow look even worse in person. and i know you’re thinking to yourself “tah they already look so bad in photos, how can they possibly look even worse in person?” I DONT KNOW. the first time i saw one on the road i was on a phone call and i literally cut myself off in the middle of a sentence just to be like “oh my GOD.” just an incredibly, laughably, unbelievably bad vehicle. i’ve never experienced anything like it. they’re just so bad
the thing about living with mental illness for decades is that occasionally your brain will be like hey you're useless and should kill yourself and your only real reaction is cmon man right now im in the middle of something
like uggghhh i can't break down sobbing and curl up and die i have shit to do
i can't lose this afternoon to a prolonged panic attack i have a deadline tomorrow
May we all know decadence such as this

not seeing a lot of people on here talking about ICE murdering another man yesterday. His name was Lorenzo Salgado Arajou. He was a Mexican man living in Houston Texas. He was killed at age 52 and lived the past 35 years here in the USA, and was in the process of obtaining a work permit. He was shot and killed during a traffic stop that ICE claims was part of a targeted operation, and claimed he was “weaponizing his vehicle”- the same claim ICE agents made when they shot and murdered Renee Good.
During the stop, Lorenzo had 3 coworkers with him in his truck who have all been taken into ICE custody.
His family described Lorenzo as a hardworking family man who didn’t deserve to be killed. All he wanted was to provide for his wife and see his sons become great people. His eldest son recognized his father by his cries and pleas when trying to identify who the victim was.
The Salgado Araujo family has set up a gofundme to help with funeral and legal costs, and to help keep their family supported since Lorenzo was the sole provider.
On the morning of July 7, 2026, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was ta… LULAC Institute, Inc. needs your support for In Loving Memory of Lorenzo Salg
For people writing paralyzed Charles, here's some research I have done on living with spinal paralysis:
(disclaimer, this is all from research, and I may have gotten things wrong)
So from reading, paralysis is painful, even total spinal separation (which, from the movies, he likely didn't have entirely for two reasons 1) we see him move his legs very minimally (could just be actor error but still) 2) he moved his legs a bit before the bullet was removed, leading to the idea that Erik actually paralyzed him, meaning that it's quite possible the bullet didn't go further into the spine).
Even total spinal cord separation often allows sensations of pain in the legs, just not responsive to touch. This pain is phantom/nerve pain caused by nerve misfires. Nerve pain is usually a burning/sharp and specific pain (think hitting your funny bone x1000).
Because you're unable to move your legs entirely, in the morning, people often experience intensely painful muscle spasms and are dependent on muscle relaxers to prevent the spasming/shaking in the legs. This is from disrupted nerve signals and can be worsened by lack of bloodflow or movement. Because of this sometimes people with paralysis will try to move their legs around manually with their arms to prevent the spasms.
Because of these spasms, people with these injuries often strap their legs into their chair. This strapping in also prevents the legs from falling out of the chair/leg holds, which can be dangerous if there is no response to touch.
Charles had a very low spinal injury, most likely somewhere in the L4-L5 vertebral. The nervous system is like an upside-down tree, it branches out but does not go up, so anything above the sight of the wound is left unaffected, meaning Charles would likely have full range of motion of his entire abdomen.
Due to the location of the injury he would likely be able to use the bathroom on his own, but would do it with something called 'bladder training'. He could likely still feel body signals to use the restroom (not present with higher injuries).
Many people with this kind of injury will cover their legs with a blanket or wear baggy clothes for two reasons. firstly, aforementioned muscle spasms (they are NO JOKE), but also because muscle atrophy will occur due to lack of use and may lead to an 'uneven' appearance of the body.
There are also mental health issues that often come from these injuries. The permanence and lack of independence is a huge piece, and people often struggle with depression and lack of identity after injury. It's also not uncommon to struggle with opioid addiction due to the severe pain.
Paralysis lowers the body's immune system and causes a depletion of 'reserves' so to speak. Those with these injuries are much more prone to illness or infection because their body is already under stress. It doesn't actually lower the immune system like HIV would, but the stress on the body puts them at more risk.
Some good sources to learn more:
This video shows a man demonstrating how he gets out of bed in the morning with a healed lower spinal injury, and gives great reference for what spasms look like. His whole channel is super educational
This video shows how to get from the floor into a wheel chair. Again, fantastic youtube channel, good reference for writing wheelchair transfers.
These memoirs are all fantastic and real life accounts of what it is like to live with these injuries.
Now go on and write disabled Charles, armed with knowledge <3
You like wasps right? Could you please tell me more about their behavior and some sources to look into?
A hive decided to take up residence under the second step to my house so I'm constantly stepping over them. But they've been extremely chill and just watch us go by. They were gathering outside the hive, on the step, and were watching every move I made the other day and I'm really curious what their little bug brains were thinking. Is there anything I can give them to make friends?
you can give them water! make sure they see you filling it so they associate you with good things. make sure it's a shallow dish with pebbles in it so they have lots of footholds and don't drown. if they're already pretty chill, they clearly don't associate you with threats and will adapt their behavior to your routine anyway
If you prefer to listen to this blog post, click here. A few summers ago, my partner and I decided to do some container gardening. This in
oh also, a basic primer on wasp body language- if a wasp is chill with you being nearby, they'll basically ignore you and go about their business.
if a wasp is NOT comfortable with you being nearby, it may turn to face you, lower the front half of its body like a dog, open its mandibles and hold them open, flip its wings up into an angry 'V' shape, or a combination of several of these! if they do this, just stop what you're doing and take a couple steps back to give them some space until they calm down.
if a wasp is actively trying to drive you out of an area, they'll do a flyby first where they just kind of fly by or near you slowly with maximum wingflaps engaged! they may or may not splay their legs out for this depending on species. they may do the flight in repeating patterns or just whizz by your face also depending on species, but if a wasp is flying weird near you you can safely assume it would like you to leave right now. exit the way you came.
to move around wasps, just keep your body language smooth and natural. do not jerk around like a panicked puppet, just be cool and predictable. wasps share their lives with countless large creatures from deer to cows to coyotes, and they're fully willing to coexist with you as well as them as long as they don't think you're trying to hurt them!

The greatest drawing of a dog was also done in the 1700s by a Japanese artist - Nagasawa Rosetsu.
These creatures are some of the greatest drawings
and now for a really controversial take:
the temperature of the house should always be decided by the one who’s chronically hot. you can put on a sweater. i can’t take anything else off
“well during the winter the cold one can decide” no you cant bc you’re gonna make it too damn hot then too. you got blankets dontcha. i didnt say anything about a season
inb4 “well being cold is physically painful” yeah i literally have raynaud’s lmao i’m well the fuck aware. fortunately i NEVER GET TO BE COLD
if you're a pixel artist and never tried working with a reasonably accurate CRT filter I HIGHLY recommend it
i'm definitely reaching for colors and techniques that i otherwise wouldn't use
it feels a lot more sculptural
oh, and you can pull bullshit like this:
I mean, not necessarily. There are color palettes and techniques that look fantastic on a flat screen, but horrid on CRT.
Like, look at this kitty:
Looks great here, but with a CRT filter? Completely obliterated.
Pixel art that wasn't designed to look good on a CRT doesn't always look better on CRT.
He has to be built with a completely different approach:
More nicepants....i can't stop thinking about them ..
