How do I set something up to display like this AS I draw

Aseprite has a “Duplicate Display” option under the “View” tab!

You can grab that tab, drag it next to the viewport of your first instance, then pull Shaderglass over one of them!

The specific Shaderglass preset I’ve been using is “RC GDV-NTSC - PS2 - Dirty”, (in retro-crisis > 1080p-Curved) with the following adjustments:

NTSC Merge Fields: YES

Rolling Scanlines: 0.73

Hum Bar Intensity: -0.02

Also, the pixel size on Shaderglass and the zoom level on whatever art program you’re using have to match.

I can’t capture Shaderglass with my regular screen recorder, so please bear with my shitty cell phone video reformatted into a fuckass GIF:

What program do you use? Would it be possible to do this on my phone when I'm too tired to pull out my computer? It would be cool to do some pixel-art world-building. It would also be cool if I could somehow add on limitations, like 8-bit color codes or something. Or at least I think that's a thing.

You may be able to get something similar on iOS, but you’d have to use something completely different (and probably outside the App Store, which is a massive pain in the ass)

You could probably run the exact same setup on Android using Wine, but YMMV

I did not know that Wine was a thing on Android! I am running Graphene OS though. It's quite easy to install third party apps on here.

I mean, not necessarily. There are color palettes and techniques that look fantastic on a flat screen, but horrid on CRT.

Looks great here, but with a CRT filter? Completely obliterated.

Pixel art that wasn't designed to look good on a CRT doesn't always look better on CRT.

He has to be built with a completely different approach:
