I love Burnum Burnum â¤ď¸đđ¤
more about Burnum Burnum
text of the declaration:
The Burnum Burnum Declaration England, 26th January, 1988
I, Burnum Burnum, being a nobleman of ancient Australia do hereby take posession of England on behalf of the Aboriginal people. In claiming this colonial outpost, we wish no harm to you natives, but assure you that we are here to bring you good manners, refinement and an opportunity to make a Koompartoo - âa fresh startâ. Henceforth, an Aboriginal face shall appear on your coins and stamps to signify our sovreignty over this domain. For the more advanced, bring the complex language of the Pitjantjajara; we will teach you how to have a spiritual relationship with the Earth and show you how to get bush tucker.
We do not intend to souvenir, pickle and preserve the heads of your 2000 of your people, nor to publicly display the skeletal remains of your Royal Highness, as was done to our Queen Truganninni for 80 years. Neither do we intend to poison your water holes, lace your flour with strychnine or introduce you to highly toxic drugs. Based on our 50,000 year heritage, we acknowledge the need to preserve the Caucasian race as of interest to antiquity, although we may be inclined to conduct experiments by measuring the size of your skulls for levels of intelligence. We pledge not to sterilise your women, nor to separate your children from their families. We give an absolute undertaking that you shall not be placed onto the mentality of government handouts for the next five generations but you will enjoy the full benefits of Aboriginal equality. At the end of two hundred years, we will make a treaty to validate occupation by peaceful means and not by conquest.
Finally, we solemnly promise not to make a quarry of England and export your valuable minerals back to the old country Australia, and we vow never to destroy three-quarters of your trees, but to encourage Earth Repair Action to unite people, communities, religions and nations in a common, productive, peaceful purpose.
Burnum Burnum.
Anyone can help!
(Real pen the last picture)
It is important for EVERYONE to know how to help ANYONE. Not everyone can give them selves their medicine under every circumstance. Be educated, help out.
In the last year, i have gotten about five new violent allergies from foods i used to be able to eat. Next time i eat a fruit, my throat could close. I may not be able to inject myself. My boyfriend and i played with my trainer pen for like 30 minutes. He knows how to inject it. I know how. This is important.
As someone with food allergies I feel like everyone should know this. Especially for those who are physically or mentally unable to stab themself with a needle for whatever reason (such as myself who has an extreme phobia of needles), others around them need to know how to administer one in case of an emergency.
Another tip! If their thigh isnât exposed donât panic! The needle will go through fabric as long as you donât try to push through a seam. Seams are too thick for the needle!!!

not to be a history fucker on main but the whole mystery of the lost colony of roanoke is so fucking funny
governor of the colony: hey Iâm gonna go back to england to get more supplies
115 colonists: okay
governor: ends up spending 3 years in england bc of a naval war with spain or some shit
governor: gets back to the colony to find everyone gone
governer: sees the word âcroatoanâ, the name of a native american tribe, carved into a post
croatoan tribe: has members and children with blonde hair/blue eyes, pale skin
everyone: what could have happened to the colonists of roanoke
racism is a hell of a drug
governor: I canât believe my colony died
roanoke folks: actually these really nice people took us in? we left you a note about that? so please stop telling everyone weâre dead?
governor: Sometimes I Can Still Hear Their Voices
To be fair, he never really got the opportunity to visit the Croatoan. The first ship he managed to get passage on lost all the supplies trying to raid Spanish ships. When he finally managed to get back to Roanoke after 3 years with some privateers there was a storm so he had to abandon the search. His daughter and granddaughter were amongst the colonists and he never gave up hope.
His patron sent another expedition 12 years later, only to be forced to turn back before even reaching Roanoke due to bad whether. Then he got arrested for treason not long after and couldnât send any more expeditions. Another expedition got rerouted by bad weather and got killed in conflict with the indigenous population. They kinda gave up after that.
According to John Smith, who governed Jamestown another 7 years later, Chief Powhatan claimed to have killed colonist living amongst an enemy tribe, though thereâs no archaeological evidence and itâs possible they were actually the remnants of a garrison left behind after a previous failed colonisation attempt.
Also when people say the lost Roanoke colony itâs not because we donât think that some of them went to live on the Croatoan Island but because weâve got no archaeological or written evidence of that. Weâre trying to find out if the settlement split up and headed in separate ways and if they were killed or did successfully become a part of the Croatoan peoples. Itâs not that we donât know itâs that we want evidence and the media is so fucking sensationalist about everything in archaeology that theyâll just say shit thatâs wrong!
The colonists (at least some of them) going to live with the Croatoan tribe is a valid theory, one I happen to personally believe in, but it hasnât been PROVEN despite circumstantial evidence. While the âmysteryâ has been greatly sensationalized, there are still several other credible theories of where the colonists (or at least some of them) went.
As said above, for various reasons the attempts to visit the Croatoans and see if the colonists made it there failed. Even if some did end up there, there are also excavation sites not near Croatoan settlements where archaeologists and historians think Roanoke colonists may have been. Itâs perfectly reasonable to think they split into different groups after their situation turned desperate. Maybe some people went to find help and didnât return. Maybe some of them wanted to remain an english settlement and went in search of new land while others decided to seek help from the Croatoans. Maybe some of them were kidnapped or killed not near the Roanoke settlement, which had in fact happened to one of the colonists before White left.
Bottom line is that none of the colonists were ever seen again and their bodies were never found, and we have several reasonable explanations for why, none of which have more than circumstantial evidence.
There is a really popular post on this site like âmen who slam doors are making sure you know how much they want to hit youâ and I canât find the post but I wish it would stop because it is not true and it has the potential to spread a lot of panic and anxiety in already traumatized people. Slamming doors, stomping your feet, punching pillows, throwing rocks at the ocean, anything physical that doesnât hurt anyone is an excellent way to deal with anger; it is actually pretty common advice in anger managment (or any type of emotional mediation therapy) to let off some steam when youâre furious so you donât say or do something in the heat of the moment.
When a person is angry their body floods with adrenaline and it doesnât just go away so acting out something physically helps your body metabolize all that adrenaline so that you CAN take a few breaths and discuss something calmly.
There are three rules to healthy anger management: 1. You canât hurt yourself â¨2. You canât hurt others â¨2. You canât break things that arenât meant to be broken This is a pretty common type of anxiety thinking for abuse/trauma survivors and if you find it triggering you should definitely talk to whoever is doing the door slamming about them finding an alternate way to throw off that excess energy. But by itself slamming doors doesnât mean someone wants to hit you, itâs actually a coping skill for emotional mediation!
While it can be a healthy way to manage anger, you need to make sure you are not doing it âatâ someone. Removing yourself from the situation and slamming a door or punching a wall can be cathartic and not harmful.
But being violent towards an inanimate object in the presence of someone else can be interpreted as a threat towards that person. Especially if they have a history of such violence being a prelude to violence against them. If you are going to use violence towards an inanimate object to cope with anger or other emotion, then it is your responsibility make sure that violence is not sending a message of impending violence.

my favorite thing about the cask of amontillado meme (which I LOVE) is that it displays, yet again, how difficult millennials on the internet are to predict. oh, giant company, you want your advertisement to go viral? well this week the kids are obsessed with a short story written in 1846 good fucking luck
oh my dear marketing man,you want me to explain how to track this? well, I could show you a chart that indicates the next five big memes. it is down in my basement, though it is quite cold, and surely you have another engagement to attend.

hey guys unpopular opinion but youâre not a bad person if you donât care about every bad thing happening in the world all the time, or if you do care but youâre not constantly reblogging posts spreading awareness and information
itâs okay if youâre just on tumblr to have fun and reblog things you like or that make you happy.
humans arenât made to process trauma and suffering on a worldwide scale without any breaks whatsoever & the internet has created an unprecedented access to bad news so please never feel guilty for scrolling past it because you canât process it! and youâre not doing anything wrong & thereâs no need to feel guilty
Titles. Theyâre the worst.
You know what the solution is? Use a Hozier lyric. Too much work? I made a generator that will summon one for you.
It works surprisingly well as a prompt generator, as well.

According to Antonia Fraser âAntoine wore glistening cloth-of-silverâ to her proxy marriage ceremony. Sadly, neither this nor any other of Marie Antoinetteâs complete gowns survive today.
The two gowns above were worn by two future Swedish Queens. The one on the top was worn by Sophia Magdalena of Denmark to her November 4th, 1766 wedding to the future Gustav III of Sweden. On the bottom is the one worn by Hedwig Elisabeth Charlotte of Holstein-Gottorp to her June 7th, 1774 wedding to the future Charles XIII. Â One was worn four years before Antoinetteâs proxy wedding, and the other four years after, and these lovely gowns us an idea of what her dress might have looked like.
