Perfectly normal until suddenly I'm thinking about how Dean knew Cas was a WARRIOR and a powerful asset but SAW CAS AS MORE THAN A WEAPON. Foaming at the mouth there's a line of dialogue in a script draft that said that outright and it was cut. But it's still self evident anyway. Cas is Cas and Dean loves him not for him being a warrior but for being Cas, while Dean also saw Cas as, simultaneously, a massive warrior bamf angel and just a little guy his dorky friend Cas. More than a hammer.
