Obsessed with how Murderbot and Perihelion were literally made to be together. Secunits were designed to interface with multiple larger systems like hub and med systems and to be part of a much larger network of bots and programs. ART is, essentially, a hub system that can react and interact with the other pieces of its systems in ways most hub systems can’t. It has the capacity to feel emotions but lacks the experience and inputs to be able to fully understand some of them until it uses Murderbots systems. Murderbot doesn’t have a deep understanding of humans and how to pass as one which ART gladly provides. ART cares deeply about its crew but can’t follow them into dangerous situations but Murderbot can. “Mutual administrative assistance” takes on a much deeper and more intimate meaning when it’s taken with the context of a software programs and its hardware counterpart.

wait murderbot's mentioned once or twice that secunits were "originally designed for" stuff like de-escalation, quick and efficient rescues, absolute minimum force and the like. ive always wondered why exactly they were designed with human faces in the first place given they're mainly used to enforce corporate slavery and having visibly expressed emotions is a detriment to that. but it would make sense if they were "meant" to be used in more of a rescue capacity, where showing empathy and being visibly familiar would be advantageous. anyway this leads into: if secunits' emotional capacity and skillset are geared towards rescue and they're used as enforcers of abuse.... well it does explain something about how fucked up they are

I miss rainbow capitalism. I do. I miss when it felt like public opinion was still pro gay. I understand it was always an empty gesture, but it mattered in a sense of knowing how socially acceptable being queer is. If that makes sense.

used to think people were joking when they talked about "getting adopted by an extrovert" but it's a Real Thing that happens and you have to be prepared. extrovert took me under her wing a year ago and it has changed my life. positives: she genuinely altered my entire perception of myself and the way in which i interact with the world. she made me so much more confident, and i think i am like WAY more comfortable in social situations now BECAUSE of her. she has taught me to move through my life with an exuberance i don't know if i could have found otherwise. i'm taking a road trip to boston with her this summer to go see two people that i have known and loved for three years but likely would never have REALLY gotten to know without her. she is beautiful. negatives: Why Are We Always Going Out. i love murderbot as like a representation of being nonbinary in a dangerous situation. when its public most of the time it has to choose between presenting itself as a governed secunit (aka "mindless killing machine") or a human, and both options make it upset, but it cant be neither because that would put it in danger. it doesnt tell people the name it gave itself because humans would find it weird and unsettling. it doesnt want to be perceived as human and it doesnt want to be perceived as a robot either!! murderbot my nonbinary hero
