I arrived at gender transition, in large part, because of the intense societal pressure on women to /not/ be fat, and the transition from L â S sizes for me was huge. suddenly, it was okay to be bigger because I was still âsmallâ. i could joke about stuff like not being able to find shirts that fit me, but it was now because they were too big. like you said, realistically, nothing changes about you as an individual, but men are allowed to exist as larger. men can take up space and outgrow tiny proportions, and women canât. the difference between size S and L in womenâs clothing is miniscule, and the different between size S womenâs and size S menâs is massive.
women: you are allowed to exist. you are allowed to be whatever size you are. i know it sounds cliche, but you are allowed to not be a number, because the numbers that femininity assigns are inherently flawed, and you are not.
