the confusion on bottoming = subbing and topping = domming pisses me off an unreasonable amount. one is an action one is a dynamic. someone can sub while topping and a bottom can dom. its not complicated but i see this mix up ALLLL the time its so frustrating

i’m not going to call myself “the friend who’s too woke” or hedge around my opinion because this is my deeply considered belief: horror literature is the theater of disgust, and the disgust that drives the vast, vast majority of classic horror media from the 1890s-1940s—dracula, jekyll and hyde, king kong, nosferatu, the mummy, universal frankenstein, the wolf man, cthulhu, and more—is the exact disgust that drove the worldwide tide of violence in the 1930s and 40s, a tide that has never fully receded, and you have NO business adapting a piece of classic horror media if you aren’t willing to put in the work to identify what is portrayed as disgusting in that property and enter into some form of dialogue with it. if you don’t want your movie to be “about” race or class or gender or sexuality or ability, you’re free to choose a source material that isn’t already about that, but unluckily for you giant hypersexual apes do not exist in a vacuum

one of my favorite things to do as someone's friend is when they're mentioning something they like. i love going "i'd love to know the lore". and then see them go "OKAY SO LIKE" and then they keep going for the next 2 hours and i get to read about their interests. like yesssss tell me everything about what you love!!!!!

call me a crackpot conspiracy theorist but i dont think its a coincidence that right around the time the us and uk governments were going mask-off transphobic and directly instructing intelligence agencies to treat trans activists as "violent extremists" english speaking social media became flooded w discourse driving a wedge between two of the largest subcomminities of trans ppl, with tons of definitely super real accounts posting shit like "grrr im a trans man and i think whiney feminist trans women should shut their bitch mouths and get back in the kitchen" or "grrrrr i think we should kill all men ESPECIALLY trans men and btw im a totally real trans woman"

im not saying trans ppl are incapable of being transphobic. lots of ppl are assholes and some of those assholes happen to be trans. but if ur constantly focusing on trans ppl like theyre the main driving force of transphobia in society, while cis politicians are actively dismantling our rights, then ur acting like a fed and im gonna treat u like one. we need to stop fighting each other and start fighting together
