how I almost lost my account - another scam going around.

I opened my tumbler. I got a message from my beloved mutual @autisticandcatholic. If this is your mutual too, please ignore that text. That was a scammer.
. The scammer said:
with that image. Seems official, yeah? There was a contact at the bottom.
IT’S FAKE. It’s all fake, and bless your soul if you already know not to go off site for technical report issues.
But did I know until later that my mutual was HACKED. I went into WhatsApp. I initiated contact. The guy seemed official and got back to me. I give him some but not all of my information— just enough for him to send an email to reset my password.
but while the scammer was doing that, I was trying to access my mutuals’ DMs. I was frightened. I wanted to reach to the mutual, for clarity on what the heck was going on.
and while I was doing that, my mutual was getting their account back. That was why DMs were down.
when they were back, my mutual immediately reassured me that they were the one talking to me. The real one, and that the guy I was talking to was not them. They told me to run away.
I was confused. But Hallelujah, I did. I pressed my mutual about the matter. They told me it was a scam.
I blocked and reported the guy.
