Please pray for me that despite my mother's opposition to very religious churches that I can still visit my local Catholic church as much as I am able to, whether it be for Mass, adoration, or chapel visits. I don't have much of a say in the house of worship my family chooses to stick to, and it probably won't be this church but I've somewhat convinced my mom that I could still go to this Catholic church sometimes if that makes sense.. basically Im okay with other non-catholic churches ofc but as a (closeted) Catholic myself I want any chance I can get to visit my Lord where I can feel and see Him most strongly <3
Blessed Virgin Mary, you who's solemnity brought me to my very first Mass today, pray for me and these matters, for I love to see your honor thrive in this church, oh Mother!
Lord, let me and all high school and college students have a good school year, good grades, good friends, good experiences, and good mental, physical, and spiritual health. Amen.

#someone had a lot of fun writing this headline

Feminine like Mary standing at the foot of the Cross. Feminine like St. Joan of Arc stepping into the battlefield. Feminine like St. Catherine of Siena advising popes and kings. Feminine like Mother Angelica berating politicians and world leaders on television. Feminine like Mary Magdalene washing the feet of our Lord with perfumed oil and her hair. Feminine like St. Teresa of Avila writing the Interior Castle in the silence of darkness. Feminine like St. Hildegard of Bingen balancing her role as abbess with writing poetry, play, chants, medicinal treatises, and theological analyses.

“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” -Exodus 33:14
“the parallels between Zuko and Sokka-” hey HEY. I am grabbing you. The parallels between Katara and Azula. Both the younger, gifted bender. Each one being the inverse of the other: a living, breathing what if. Katara being horrified at what her bending can do when pushed to its limits vs Azula always trying to push hers further. Katara instinctively trusting everyone so easily, even though it burns her sometimes, and Azula saying trust is for fools, fear is the only reliable way but still losing everyone she cares about in the end. Katara yelling at her dad and being hugged in return vs Azula doing everything possible to please her father still being harshly reprimanded, so you know exactly why they both turned out the way that they did. Katara’s trauma being connected to losing a mother vs Azula’s being connected to having a mother. Katara ultimately being the one to take down Azula and standing over her, staring pitifully because that’s who she could have been, in another life. is this thing on

"One time a piano student asked me: 'Why play the piano if these days my tablet or smartphone can do it automatically better than me?'
He then showed me several apps that played music using scores.
I explained to him: 'Your cell phone always plays that Debussy score in exactly the same way. You, on the other hand, with your emotions and flaws, will never play the score the same way twice. You will not play the same way on a sunny day when you have just fallen in love as on a cloudy day when a relative has just died. Music is not just a score - you too are part of the music. Art includes you in the experience; your human imperfections are also part of the work.'"
