Venerated by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007

Antonietta Meo, nicknamed “Nennolina", was born in Rome and attended Catholic schools where she stood out for her charm, joy, and love of the poor. When she was 6 years old her left leg was amputated because of bone cancer, which eventually caused her death. Her life was a witness of sanctity for children who suffer because she knew to offer up her pain in union with Jesus. She wrote hundreds of “love letters” to Jesus before she died, sending Jesus “lots of kisses.” She may be the youngest person made venerable by the Catholic Church.
