After a while of talking about how Anya acts the trainer says there’s nothing to worry about, Anya likes Shane just fine, it’s just that she sees him as the boss and is acting accordingly

And Ilya is like. But. I’m the one who adopted her? And raised her before Shane got here?? And the trainer is just like yeah well she sees you more like an equal. And Ilya is like WAIT she thinks Shane is in charge of both of us?? And the trainer is just like well do you interact in a way that would make her think that?

Ilya’s life flashes before his eyes as he thinks of all the times Shane has come over with a snack for Ilya and a treat for Anya, or all the times Shane has announced they’re all going for an after dinner walk, or pets Ilya’s hair and tells him he did a good job at practice, or the fact that he uses the same warning tone with Anya when she misbehaves as he does with Ilya when he’s causing problems on purpose

he was so enamoured and fascinated that first time, he couldn't help a chuckle. it was just so endearing to him. but there was no danger yet. or there was (because lbr they fell from moment one), but he still wasn't in tune with his feelings.

but vegas. VEGAS. man.

he's in so much pain watching shane fold his clothes. he's now in tune with his feelings, he knows this can't be, he knows he needs to put up a wall. a hundred walls. and here's shane, folding his clothes so neatly, as he always does. so endearing, so earnest, so purely him. it breaks ilya's heart how fond he is of that habit. how he could get used to it, to see it happening every night, right before they cuddle in bed together. in some fantasy world. but it can't be. won't ever be. and it's tearing him apart. (but it will be ilya, you're marrying that man, and get to see him fold his lil clothes every night forever and ever)

"The fun thing for us for that end sequence was his costume -- what he would have left over from the ship. I don't really think you see it in the film but the trousers that he's wearing, they're cut from one of the flight suits. And we've done a belt buckle that's made of xenonite that Rocky would've made for him. And all of the sewing on it is a little bit - it's nowhere near as good as Jenny would normally do, so we had to purposely ask Jenny to do bad sewing at the top of his trousers, so it'd look like he would've done it.

And then our brilliant breakdown department, run by Tim Shanahan, they break everything down to look like it's 10, 20 years old. So his cardigan and the t-shirt's all faded. And even on the laces -- the laces in his chuck taylors -- because your laces always break after a certain period of time, so we found stuff that was on the ship, like elastics and stuff. There's a nice big close-up actually in the film, so you can see that they're not normal laces, they're like stuff that he would've got from the ship that he's made as make-shift laces."
