The United States Government:

In order for disabled people to receive any sort of financial assistant for their housing, food, bills, medical supplies, etc., they cannot ever have more than $2,000 of resources to their name. Ever.

It doesn’t matter what it’s for.

You’re saving up for a new wheelchair?

For college?

To put a downpayment on a house?

Hell man, you just happen to budget for once in your life so that you can have some extra money in case something bad happens?

Your benefits immediately get cut off if you’re a cent over $2,000.

And, even worse, you usually end up having to pay back every dollar the government gave you that month.

So say you get $400. If they find out you’re twenty dollars over the resource limit, you have to give them all $400 back and you undergo an investigation of your funds to see if you will continue getting money.

“What if I spend the money that day?”

Doesn’t matter. In fact, from what I can tell, people who do this are actually put under investigation for fraud.

before the movie came out, Marvel gave him an exclusive preview screening. SOme people were upset because they felt if Marvel was really wanted to thank mantlo, they should have donated money to Mantlo’s family.

Sometimes, at the end of the month, he has no idea what to do with his money because the whole month went by and he still has 400-ish bucks in his account, and he fucking panics because he doesn’t want to get anywhere near 2,000.

And here’s the funnest part of the story!

One day he did a huge commission on Second Life and wound up earning 1500 bucks off of it, and he told the guy to donate it 500 bucks at a time over 3 months. The guy didn’t want to, and just donated all 1500, which put my brother at 2,036 bucks.

The state IMMEDIATELY (I’m talking less than an hour) called him up to tell him over the phone that they were canceling his SSI, because they noticed he had gone over the 2,000 buck threshold. He had to tell them that someone had made a charitable donation to him and that this was not a common occurrence in any way shape or form, and upon not believing him, my mother had to call to talk to them as his legal caretaker and say basically the same thing until they called off the cancellation of his SSI money.

He also had to cancel his renter’s assistance because it put him to 1,062 a month, so if he went 30 days without spending any money they’d cancel his SSI altogether. Like, none of us in the family have any fucking clue why that regulation is in place and it’s the stupidest shit in human history.

Sneaking away from the fundraiser you were in charge of planning may be the stupidest thing you’ve ever done, and it’s definitely the most irresponsible, but the likelihood of anyone missing you is slim to none. Plenty of Pros had already come and gone by the time you ran into Shouto, so if anyone asks, the three of you can probably bullshit an excuse for leaving early. And even if your presence is missed, you really don’t have it in you to care considering you have two incredibly attractive, incredibly disheveled men stumbling into your apartment behind you.

Regardless, you’re certainly not complaining about the way tonight is going.

Katsuki kicks your apartment door shut behind the three of you, but before you can complain about the noise, the hothead scoops you off the ground and tosses you over his shoulder. “Katsuki!” you yelp, your hands fisting in his jacket for balance. His grip tightens around your hips, and you trust him enough to know he’d never let you fall. “Put me—” The protest cuts off with a gasp as he gives your ass a playful smack.

“Stop squirmin’, angel,” Katsuki warns you, pinching your thigh. “Ya want me to drop you on that cute little ass?”

Eyes narrowed, you glare at the back of his head. “You wouldn’t dare.”

A snort draws your attention, and Shouto shakes his head at Katsuki’s display as he locks the door behind you. Fond amusement flickers in his eyes when they meet yours, and a smirk pulls at his lips as he follows Katsuki into your bedroom. They both walk in like they’re coming home, and your heart squeezes in your chest at the thought.

Katsuki plops you back onto the floor in the middle of your bedroom and spins you around to look at him. The curtains over your window are pulled back just enough to have moonlight spilling into the room. It casts shadows over his face, makes his eyes look brighter in the darkness of your quiet room. The moonlight must be doing something to you, too, because he’s looking at you like you’re the most breathtaking thing he’s ever seen.

You expect him to rush towards you, grab you, kiss you, do something, but he stands rooted in place, just taking in the sight of you for a little longer.

You smooth out the silky fabric of your dress, biting your lip as you look down at yourself, making sure everything is in place. While no stranger to dressing up for events like this, you’ve been especially nervous about tonight, taking painstaking measures to find a dress you liked and make sure everything is as close to perfect as you can get it.

Chalking it up to the short notice, you ignore the little voice in the back of your head calling you a filthy liar. All week you’ve been waiting for tonight, and now that it’s almost here, you’re beginning to realize you’ve run out of excuses not to make a move on a pair of certain Heroes. The thought is both exciting and nerve-wracking, but you still have an entire night to get through first. An incredibly chaotic night of socializing and making sure none of your high school friends do anything such as, but not limited to, starting fights (Bakugou), setting off explosions (also Bakugou), or getting shitfaced on champagne (Kaminari). 

Deciding not to dwell on everything that could possibly go wrong tonight, you take a deep breath and throw your bedroom door open. “What do you think?” you ask the girls sitting on your couch as you step back into the living room. Two pairs of eyes immediately latch onto you, and you hold your breath, waiting for the verdict.

You needed all the help you could get today, and who better to ask for fashion advice than two of your favorite ladies?

They react accordingly.

Mina gasps and nearly falls off the couch as she lurches forward with wide eyes. “Damn, girl, you look hot!” She makes a show of assessing you, dark eyes roaming over your silver dress and the places where it clings to you perfectly, sleeveless and cut with a deep v-neck.

While her reaction is more subdued, Momo’s smile is no less genuine when she sees what you’re wearing, and her lips twitch in clear amusement by the way Mina practically throws herself at you. “You look lovely,” she compliments, analyzing you. “The color brings out your eyes. And that dress is a good fit for you. It shows off your figure nicely.”

Mina is significantly less tactful.

Dubiously, you stare at the file Izuku is holding out to you. The look you send him is all but reproachful as you place your hands on your hips, your lips pressed into a tight line. Izuku fidgets under your gaze, sweat beading on his hairline, but his smile never falters for a second.

“Let me get this straight,” you start slowly. Maybe you didn’t hear him right. With all the muttering and nervous babbling he tends to do, it wouldn’t be a surprise for you to mishear a few things. Though, you have practically mastered the art of deciphering him at his most incoherent. Regardless, you press on, not even trying to mask the utter bewilderment in your voice. “You want me to run all the way to Shouto’s Agency to drop off a single file?”

It sounds even more bizarre when you say it out loud.

Izuku fiddles with the pen on his desk. “Yes?”

The questioning inflection of his reply only makes your frown deepen. Resisting the urge to rub your temples, you send him another hard look. “Aren’t you supposed to be seeing him and Bakugou tonight?” you ask, sure you heard him mention something about the three of them going out for dinner. “It can’t wait until then?”

“It’s important,” he tells you, only slightly more confident in his reply than he was before.

You know you shouldn’t roll your eyes at your boss, but you do so anyway. “I see. And you do realize I’ll be gone for at least two hours, right?”

“It’s very important?”

Your frown turns into a pout.

Any other day you might have agreed to go right away, always happy to see one of your favorite Heroes. But ever since that night at Momo’s, you’ve been doing your best to avoid both Shouto and Katsuki. It wasn’t on purpose at first. You planned on going out for drinks with Katsuki and Kirishima over the weekend like you always do, only to be slapped in the face with the reminder of what you told the girls. Mina’s jokes about a threesome came crashing back over you, and with the dirty fantasies floating through your head, you knew that being drunk around Katsuki would end in nothing but loose lips and an extremely awkward confrontation.

You didn’t even want to think about the possibility of rejection, so you called Kiri to cancel with excuses of planning the fundraiser—which wasn’t technically a lie.

Katsuki wasn’t happy about it, obviously, but you know how to handle him. You just need to make it through this fundraiser before making any life altering decisions including, but not limited to, trying to fuck two Pro Heroes that also happen to be two of your closest friends.

Avoidance was clearly the best answer to this.

You can honestly say this wasn’t what you were expecting to happen tonight.

Chilled fingers follow the curve of your spine, starting at the base of your neck and trailing downward achingly slow. The hitch in your breathing is loud, and Shouto’s lips curve into a barely there smile against the back of your head. Deftly, he slips a finger between your shoulder and the pretty dress you’re wearing, teasing the soft skin there before you let him brush the fabric aside.

The straps of your dress slide down your arms teasingly, and a pair of narrowed, ruby red eyes immediately drag down your body, appraising you as more of your soft skin is revealed. Katsuki licks his lips as the silky fabric pools around your feet, expression nothing short of greedy as he watches the two of you, though he doesn’t move. Not yet. You shiver under his gaze and the icy kiss that Shouto presses against the side of your neck. Hands drag down your sides to grasp your hips, the difference in temperature between the two making you gasp and squirm, but Shouto holds you firmly against his chest.

The boys lock eyes over your shoulder. A silent agreement.

“All right, angel.” Katsuki’s voice is deeper than usual, and startlingly calm. “Be a good girl and moan for me an’ Icy Hot.”

Shouto huffs at the old insult, but then his teeth drag down the column of your throat and you do exactly as Katsuki demands, much to their amusement.

Chuckling to himself, Katsuki’s eyes rake over you again, taking in the lacy lingerie previously hidden beneath your dress, and the strappy high-heels that do little to keep you from being dwarfed by their heights. You swear his fingers spark as he grasps the front of his dress shirt, popping the buttons one by one. Patiently, Shouto’s left hand draws small circles against your hip, his right skimming the smooth skin of your stomach, trailing higher and higher until he’s grasping your chin between cold and calloused fingers.

They look at you like they want to devour you.

And you plan on letting them.

Tony found you asleep in a pile of bodies, sprawled out over the couch in the living room.  Everyone was in a state of undress and you seemed to have been left in just your panties.  He was already starting to sober up and he’d come to you via the kitchen and downed a bottle of strawberry lemonade to help keep back the inevitable hangover he was going to wake up with.  He was about to head up to bed - the party well and truly over - when he remembered that you needed a place to stay and to ensure that he needed to get you out of the living space.  He shook you awake and watched in amusement as you blinked up at him and looked around at the people around you.
