one day I should actually watch the subbed version of bnha

#i find a lot of the english va work kind of grating #which isn't anything against the VAs themselves. i just think the direction was off for some characters #but it's what I started with when i first watched this show back in. what? 2016? 2017? so switching to the sub feels weird #like trying to watch FMA's sub or AOT's dub #it just FEELS wrong #that said I actually really like shouto's japanese VA and also prefer touya's japanese VA so I may do it just doe the todorokis #alisha rewatches bnha

with the training camp arc it almost feels like Touya was going to be revealed as an undercover agent. he joins the LOV out of nowhere after having no notable criminal record and just declaring that he's following Stain's will. he doesn't seem to like Muscular much (which is fair either way). and he's very careful about not actually hurting anyone with his quirk the entire time (we know that Twice's clones have autonomy and will follow their own goals). he warns Aizawa before attacking him, doesn't really struggle when he's restrained, and then basically spells out that the LOV's target is the students. he does catch the Bakugou marble, but conveniently Bakugou is never physically harmed and his kidnapping leads to a task force nearly capturing the LOV and All for One is defeated and imprisoned.

hmm, what a convenient sequence of events.

#that was probably never a consideration but if 'touya is a HPSC agent infiltrating the LOV' had been a plot twist i wouldn't have been mad #it definitely makes more sense than top 10 pro hero hawks trying to join the LOV as a spy and having it actually work #alisha rewatches bnha

the limits of what pro heroes are allowed to do are very fuzzy and questionable. like... aizawa has dabi restrained on the ground and proceeds to start breaking his limbs for answers??? are the pros legally allowed to torture restrained criminals??? because that doesn't sound right.

#for the record i'm not trying to say that pros should never injure villains ever #it's the excessive force when there's no longer a physical struggle happening that leaves a bad taste in my mouth #same shit happens down the line with the confrontation between hawks and twice #restraining someone and break their arms when they won't answer your questions is a level of moral gray that shouldn't be acceptable #for super powered first responders #like what the fuck???#alisha rewatches bnha #bnha critical #mha critical
