Haru, more than anyone, would understand WHY akira loves akechi despite everything. She still loves her father after all the awful shit he did. Its not something you can control, and she knows this!

And I feel like haru would never stop true love because she was almost forced into an arranged marriage. The freedom to love whoever you want no matter what people may say is haru's THING. so no she wouldn't stop talking to akira over him still loving akechi.

I am posting a lot this evening but Akechi’s all out attack finishers are some of my favorites specifically for their message. Everyone’s all out attack finisher method says something about their personality or goals.

Some of the Phantom Thieves’ are just flashy finishers, but it still says a lot about how they interpret the battle. The iconic ‘show’s over’ that Joker has displays his personality and belief about combat: The metaverse is his stage, where he can freely be himself as he likes, and his closing should reflect that.

Akechi’s all-out attack finishers are more.. skewed. Shrouded, one might say. “My sole interest is uncovering the truth,” seems simply at first. He’s a detective, yeah. Of course he wants to uncover and understand the truth.

But… What truth? It can’t be the killer behind the Black Mask, as he states to the Thieves, because that’s him. But… what if it is? What if that ‘truth’ is not about the killer, but about himself. Akechi’s truth that he needs to uncover is who am I, really? The prince detective is only one half of a whole, but there’s a second bit in hiding—that scorned, ostracized bastard. The boy the world forgot, his mother’s son. His father’s son, even. He states precisely that he wants Shido to acknowledge him as his son, and I think that (or the refusal, in actuality) is what he needed to see the other parts of himself, the Black Mask, as more than just something to be hid.

In the Third Semester, his all-out attack finisher changes to ‘I decide the truth’—this one is a bit less obvious at first glance. Maybe it’s referring to Maruki’s reality, he decides his own truth? No, actually. I think it refers to him deciding to accept, and more than that, push forwards his Black Mask self. Make it his main personality, now that he has no need for the detective prince persona.

He realized Shido would never acknowledge him now that Shido’s heart was changed, and in that change of heart, there wasn’t a single mention of him. Akechi has nothing left to lose, and all his newfound agency culminates in him deciding the truth of who he wants to be. How he wants to live.
