what's that one thing where they asked how ripely from alien was so realistic and believable as a female character in scifi for once and they were like "well we just took the dude from the original script and made him a girl and changed nothing else. it works bc men and women are the same?" and people were like "woah no way" and then didn't learn anything from that for 20 years

"how do you write such believable men as a woman?" "how do you write such believable women a man?" and the answer people who are good at it always give is "i just write people. were literally the exactly the same. do you think the opposite sex is some sorta totally different animal???" and people respond "woah that's wild. yea i do. and im not gonna stop thinking that goodbye :)"

the paris catacombs are 1000x more fucked up than i imagined

did you know the cops once found a fully functioning movie theater with a well-stocked bar inside the catacombs and they when they tried to go back later to formally investigate it was completely emptied out save for a note that read "don't search for us"

okay i think the reason i hate "macbeth gets pegged by his wife lol" shitposts so much is because macbeth and lady macbeth's mutual trust and respect at the start of the play and lady m knowing her husband well enough to take advantage of his biggest insecurity for THEIR gain (not her own, but the two of them TOGETHER) being washed down to macbeth being sexually submissive is just so fucking uncritical & does a massive disservice to their dynamic. it's like there's no way for a man to defer to his wife without also submitting to her sexually, and you're ignoring how their dynamic actually changes over the course of the play. also macbeth's biggest insecurity in question is his masculinity, and his desperation to prove his worth and strength as a man is what drives most of his actions, so he would not fucking get pegged.
