The Clarifier would like to make just one more comment

The entire Europe conspired and cooperated to colonize North America.
Say this to Norwegians and Swedes, they'd get mad and act as if they have nothing to do with it
This belief is tied to the misconception that colonization was undertaken by states, and thus that only countries whose states had colonies were involved. The importance of companies and venture capital in colonization is vastly unknown and frequently underestimated. When you look into it, you'll see that even some European countries without colonies had colonial companies. And even when that wasn't the case, the states themselves or large part of their capitalist class could own stakes in foreign colonial companies.
And even more indirectly, they could have stakes in trades that were fed by colonialism, like industry developing thanks to cheaper material from the colonies, which fueled the industrial revolution

NIBSDA was conceptualized to serve as a national digital platform and digital repository for boarding school archival collections throughout
What is NIBSDA?
NIBSDA was conceptualized to serve as a national digital platform and digital repository for boarding school archival collections throughout the United States. As part of truth-telling, access to boarding school records for survivors and descendants is paramount to understanding this history and its consequences on Tribal Nations. Through cultivating historical insights, NIBSDA supports community-led healing initiatives throughout American Indian and Alaska Native Nations towards restored Indigenous cultural sovereignty.
⚠ In negotiating these pursuits, you may encounter content that can trigger secondary trauma or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD); we encourage individuals to prepare themselves prior to engaging with these collections and to seek counseling or healing if you experience any stress related to boarding school history. Indigenous peoples are warned that NIBSDA may lead to other external resources that contain images, names, and references to deceased persons. For more information, please see Content Warning. ⚠
wishing all outdoor workers, delivery drivers, people who have to walk to work, bus riders, etc a very Don't die in this heat
have at you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the kids are calling them "stone fruits." they start off small—think cherries. then they're hooked and they need a quick fix, they get peaches, maybe some nectarines. it's all they can think about. before you know it, they're trying the really hard stuff—apricots, plums. once they taste a mango there's no going back.
Someone’s pretending to be me in an attempt to scam people, just so you know! I’m sure you’re all too smart to fall for something so obvious though, hehe
Also I haven’t done commissions in 8 years so… if a feef corners you and offers commissions, don’t let them take you to a secondary location.

i think one of the worst things the left wing internet ever did was push the idea that oppression is basically a virtue, and being oppressed is a sign of your morality. it has made it like…impossible for some of you to hold the idea that most people are privileged in some ways and oppressed in others. AND a lot of you seem to have it in your mind that terrible people cannot be oppressed, and that oppressed people cannot do terrible things, which is a dangerous rhetoric to hold imo.
"you don't know what you have until you lose it" works for things that suck too btw. sometimes you need to experience life without something for a while to realise oh damn that was some bullshit
I’ve rewritten this ask a bazillion times, but it’s something that’s been weighing on me, especially with all the many fandom dramas going on. I’m just afraid I’ll sound ignorant, or that I’m asking permission to watch racist shit, but I am genuinely trying to be as supportive as possible.
What is the best course of action when a creator or game or show or book says something or does something racist? Or has some characters or themes that are suspect? There are times when the answer is super clear, when creators are past the point of forgiveness. But what about single racist acts? When should apologies be taken seriously? What should I do if people are split online about the decision? What is the best way to get as many available opinions as I can? When is it time to press eject on the entire series? How can I best support Black people still within the fandom?
I promise I’m not asking you to hold my hand or to give me permission, I just want a basis. A general guide. Sometimes I feel frozen, because I don’t know what the best course of action is.
Well let me ask you some questions in response that might help put your panic in context:
1) why is "a single racist act" more acceptable? Why is the amount of times one has been antiblack racist the standard, and not also the impact, as well as the perpetrator's response to that single act?
2) what is YOUR standard for "too far"? That is, what is YOUR line for allowing antiblackness to slide until it is "too bad"?
3) Are you okay that the victims of said antiblackness who have a different standard of "too far" will judge you accordingly?
4) Here's what Black fans consider to be a good apology. How often have you accepted less than? Are you okay with continuing to do that for the sake of entertainment?
5) What makes you think YOU- if you are not a target of that racism- have the right to make that call of what's an "acceptable" apology?
6) Do you have Black friends within fandom? Do you listen to their opinions when they tell you what they need? Why do you hold anyone else's opinion as valuable when they are not the target group in question?
