so many people are denying that jax is trans despite both the creator and the voice actors coming out and saying that jax was written as trans they say that because glitch and sometimes goose still use he/him pronouns to refer to jax that jax is not actually a trans woman (despite goose saying both pronouns were fine to use and has used them both when referring to jax herself and she would not say that both pronouns were fine to use if jax was a cis male) or that goose was just shit posting when she and the voice actors said that jax was trans (that would be a pretty elaborate shit post) and it’s so frustrating to watch people deny this and treat people like they are looking too much into things and just not be willing to understand that jax is written as repressed and in character jax would most likely not refer to herself with she/her pronouns but the audience knows (or they should know) that jax is trans the bow scene being one moment of show not tell symbolism that just goes completely over people’s heads I guess? Idk I’m just angry that people are being so dense about this

It's something I've seen happen so much with themes and symbolism seen as less "controversial." The political climate rn already doesn't want to treat trans women as humans nor acknowledge that humans can be trans women, and the passive acceptance of that status quo reacts toxically with the current state of fandom thats been encouraged not to bother much with thoughtful analysis. There's a kind of person who's just going to bury their head in the sand about this no matter what you say. I don't completely ignore people like that, I just don't let myself get caught up on each and every one of their arguments. It wastes a lot of energy that I could be putting towards other things.

Like the example of people saying Goose is "shitposting." Rather than spend a bunch of time trying to prove to myself or anyone why Goose isn't shitposting (would be a bunch of disparate possible reasonings I can't confirm without asking Goose directly), I've been spending time discussing the broader thematic implications of what it means for Jax and the show as a whole IF Goose is NOT shitposting. It doesn't matter that I can't "prove" there was no shitposting; I can form a sound and compelling argument for artistic intent and artistic impact on the BASIS that it is not shitposting. It's not just authorial intent, either-- "Jax doesn't transition and therefore isn't transgender" can't be disproven, but "Jax is transgender and chose not to transition" can't be disproven either, and the latter claim adds more depth to dozens of moments in the story while the former claim makes several character choices seem confusing and arbitrary.

Anyone who doesn't want to engage with this kind of argumentation-- anyone who demands you completely and totally and irrevocably disprove their argument about a text before "allowing" you to make your own argument-- isn't arguing in good faith and doesn't deserve your time. That's why when I get frustrated by this kind of cowardly willful ignorance, I do my damndest to channel my energy into supporting my own point rather than disproving someone else's.
