god… to hear daniel say he feels like his life was a failure, carrying all that guilt about being unable to save sha’re, about unearthing the gate instead of living his life out with her, unable to save sarah and everything else that happened where he tried to turn things around for the better but it not working out. and i doubt that it helped losing reese a few weeks ago, thinking he was getting somewhere with her, changing her mind and then it all falling apart around him due to things he can’t control. to feel so powerless in a galaxy so vast, that would lay down anyone who feels deeply and wants to understand the way things are, how they came to be

if jack had given up, hadn’t appealed to jonas’ humanity and drive to tell the truth as a scientist, they never would have gotten the naquadria. hammond and sam really disapponted me in meridian, that jack was the only one fighting for the truth to be told, that daniel didn’t sabotage anyone. no matter their conflicts over the past 1-2 years, he still believed in his heart of hearts that daniel wouldn’t do something like this. and he was right, daniel saved millions of people, including his team members, and what a shame it would have been for a lie destroying his reputation being the last entry in his file.
