it’s so special to me that so much of fan culture is textual analysis for the love of the game. like thank god there are people in my phone who are also thinking about this thing i love so much that they are writing transformative fiction as character studies and setting clips of the show to music with theme-relevant lyrics and writing long text posts analyzing every line of dialogue like!! yay!!!

I kinda like the implication in DS9 and Voyager that the Alpha Quadrant is a lot younger in terms of spacefaring civilizations than the Gamma and Delta Quadrants

actually it kind of makes sense that nikola wasn’t part of helen’s out of the blue hallucination, bc whenever he shows up he’s “always up to something” and this has been his pattern for so long that helen knows exactly what to expect every time, and that it’s only a matter of time before she finds out what he’s really up to. and the point of the hallucination was to keep her distracted and complacent, two things she never is when nikola is around.

i love the speculative biology of phm but it also drives me insane bc it’s like “oh wow this is such a complicated & well-thought out ecosystem that’s simultaneously familiar & completely foreign, the designs of these creatures are so unique and perfectly suited to their environmen- wait a minute it’s jUST FUCKING CRABS AGAIN”
