Leaked documents detail the dizzying scope of ICE operations
“Operation Abracadabra was initiated with the requirement of Interviewing 100% of individuals apprehended to gather intelligence and identify follow-on targets such as stash houses and individuals conducting illegal activity,” one of the documents, a briefing slide, reads. The purpose, it continues, is “Tying every individual who crosses the border illegally to a Foreign Terrorist Organization, a Transnational Criminal Organization, and/or utilizing the intelligence to develop targets.” Another briefing about Operation Benchwarmer reveals the employment of agents dressing in “plainclothes” to disguise themselves as ordinary people in an attempt to gather intelligence. “Plainclothes agents have been embedded in transport vans, sally ports, processing areas, and detention cells to gather important tactical intelligence and or information,” the briefing says of this nationwide operation. The purpose? It’s “focused on collecting information not normally gained during formal interviews.”
Screenshots of documents referenced in this story are enclosed below. Oh, and if you work for the Department of Homeland Security (ICE, Border Patrol etc.) and have any tips, text me securely via Signal at 202-510-1268.
[“Although they may seem only slightly related, fears about “race mixing” and queer people were intimately connected, flip sides of the same eugenic coin. Both fears, ultimately, were about preserving the “white race.” Black people represented an external threat to whiteness; queer people represented an internal one. After emancipation, white scientists, lawmakers, and doctors saw a looming threat of extinction, through the degeneration of white bloodlines via interracial relationships on the one hand, and through sterility and enervation via homosexuality on the other. Because these were ultimately sexual issues, it’s no wonder that American sexology, even more so than its European counterpart, was deeply racist. Some of the same eugenic scientists who were defining “homosexuality” in this era were also (re)defining whiteness, primarily by promoting the idea that black people were both a physical and existential threat to the so-called white race. They argued that ethnic differences among Europeans were nothing when compared to the differences between whites and blacks. Whiteness at this time was a less unified identity, with much being made over intra-European ethnic divisions. Irish people, southern Italians, and Jews of European descent were only tentatively considered white by most New Yorkers. Only once larger numbers of black Americans moved to the city during the 1920s did whiteness come to be understood as the pan-European identity it is today (and still today, European-descended Jews are often viewed as racially other). Sexologists would be integral to this unification of the “white race.”]

Haven't seen anyone talking about it here, but vocal transfeminist and writer Tara Knight has been sent a threat from the fbi insisting that she stop speaking about "radical gender ideology" and get rid of the past 3 years of her work.
A black trans woman is getting personally threatened by the fbi for being a transfeminist. What the fuck. Hopefully this gets more reach than my usual posts so that people who are able to can support her.
Why the FBI targeting a trans woman of color affects all of us and how we should respond.
"The ultimate goal of this specific act of repression is not just to subjugate trans people, but to erase the very fact of trans existence from public life and legal recognition. They’re not afraid of people like this building an army, they’re terrified of them building an audience. I am here to suggest that maybe they should be afraid of us building an army."
do the people know that zohran gave all new yorkers free access to heated rivalry on ebook/audiobook during the snowstorm. truly the greatest city on earth
oh my god you're not kidding
The thing about this shooting is that, even more than the Renee Good shooting, it was just a fucking execution. This guy was on his knees, surrounded by officers, being beaten. He had been stripped of a legal concealed handgun which he wasn't brandishing moments before the shooting started. Once the shooting started, it continued while he was laying flat on the ground, motionless, not presenting any kind of potential threat at all. They just fucking killed him for no reason. There's no argument to be made that he was a threat. He wasn't in a moving car. He wasn't presenting a weapon. He was just murdered.
Just saw an interview with an MN healthcare worker that ICE agents are taking detainees who are badly injured (one had a fractured skull) and leaving them without clothes in the woods to die
there is a list circulating locally of the various parks throughout the metro area where severely injured abductees have been unceremoniously dumped with no warm clothing in subzero temperatures.
they're also claiming that one abductee currently in the ICU "deliberately ran head-first into a brick wall." this, after one agent told a healthcare worker that the abductee "got his shit rocked."
DO NOT LOOK AWAY.
While obviously horrific, this isn't new, unique to ICE or the US.
Over the course of just two weeks in January and February of 2000, three Indigenous men were found frozen to death in Saskatoon after being
Abolishing ICE is only the first step. It's cops and the entire carceral system next, because this is all of them.
ICE just held a dude down with like 6 agents and executed him point blank while he was on the ground on Nicollet ave, where a leftist gun permit class is being held this weekend
Witnesses allegedly being scanned with facial recognition cameras
The directive is part of a sweeping, nationwide effort by U.S. immigration authorities to identify anyone and everyone trying to film their conduct, including not just ICE but other agencies like Border Patrol as well. The ultimate goal is to create a watchlist of anti-ICE protestors, which the Trump administration believes are part of an organized network of domestic terrorists.
It's important to note at this point that the Trump administration has issued a "National Security Presidential Memorandum" called "NSPM-7" which was written to allow his administration to target pretty much anyone who disagrees with Trump/anyone who organizes to protect their neighborhoods against the currently unconstitutional policies and label them "potential domestic terrorists." This extends not just to people trying to hold ICE accountable for kidnapping and intimidation, but anyone holding what the Trump administration holds "anti-Christian" or "anti-American" views.
The Trump administration isn’t only targeting organizations or groups but even individuals and “entities” whom NSPM-7 says can be identified by any of the following “indicia” (indicators) of violence:
anti-Americanism,
anti-capitalism,
anti-Christianity,
support for the overthrow of the United States Government,
extremism on migration,
extremism on race,
extremism on gender
hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family,
hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on religion, and
hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on morality.
The insanely broad language of this Presidential Memorandum (how are we defining 'traditional views??' How are we defining 'Hostility??') basically says "I can target and black-bag anyone who disagrees with me." And it also targets perfectly legal funding networks for leftist activism like bail funds and mutual aid. And now it's being used to target and intimidate anyone recording ICE activity by declaring such activity as a "potential indicator for radical leftist terrorism."

immigration enforcement agents should be shunned, humiliated, and disrespected wherever they go
immigration enforcement agents should be k***ed
Georges Perec's ''Life: A User's Manual'' is constructed in the manner of a vast jigsaw puzzle. In it, Perec takes a single apartment building in Paris and uses 99 short chapters to give a meticulous description of each and every room as well as the life stories of all the inhabitants, both past and present. [...] What emerges is a series of self-contained but interconnecting stories. They are all briskly told, and they run the gamut from the bizarre to the realistic. There are tales of murder and revenge, tales of intellectual obsessions, humorous tales of social satire and (almost unexpectedly) a number of stories of great psychological penetration. For the most part, Perec's microcosm is peopled with a motley assortment of oddballs, impassioned collectors, antiquarians, miniaturists and half-baked scholars. (Paul Auster)
Today Joseph and Mary would have to pass through 15 illegal checkpoints setup by the Israeli apartheid regime on occupied Palestinian land to get from the Palestinian town of Nazareth to the Palestinian town of Bethlehem.
Maybe this is a 'water is wet' statement, but: putting the Holocaust on a pedestal where it can never be compared to anything else doesn't just serve zionism, it serves the individual agendas of a lot of colonialist powers too because it ensures that their history of atrocities is never compared to the Holocaust and remembered in the way that our culture remembers the Holocaust.
The transatlantic slave trade? The deliberate British Great hunger in Ireland? The deliberate British Famines in India? The Holodomor? The multiple acts of ethnic cleansing and mass murders committed by the Netherlands in Indonesia and its other colonies? Leopold II's reign of terror in Congo? And countless others.
All of these exist in the relatively ignored field of 'lesser evils' and aren't remembered and used as national moral anchors in the way the Holocaust is. They're not at the center of our collective memory because this one great horror takes center stage and it is deemed morally unacceptable to place other horrors near it. The only exception I can think of is the US, where thanks to the endless hard work of African Americans, slavery is sort of kinda almost recognized in the collective consciousness as a second great horror. But it's still second fiddle and disputed, and meanwhile in the European countries that engineered the transatlantic slave trade and profited from it, the space it takes in the collective consciousness is tiny.
The Netherlands has over 70 World War 2 museums. It is yet to open its first museum about slavery and has no museums dedicated to it's other colonial atrocities. The budget of the national World War 2 commemoration is 35 times larger than that of the national slavery commemoration. Holocaust education is important, but something is out of whack here. And it's easy to see why colonial powers don't want to change that.
