I know that Bruce Robinson had no intention of writing Withnail as gay. I know that him lying to Monty about Marwood being in love with him was probably supposed to be demonstrative of his selfishness. I know that him losing all hope when Marwood leaves him is due to loss of distraction, rather than loss of a loved one. I know that the reason they don’t even raise the subject of women is because they are apparently too poor to maintain girlfriends. I know that Withnail getting arrested for speeding to get Marwood back for his audition was probably due to love of theatre, rather than an attempt to atone for his actions on their holiday. But my goodness, it all comes off as so gay.

Just started watching Pluribus and this show has reached levels of toxic yuri I would have previously thought impossible. you think pluribus can't get any more disturbing when you're presented with the idea of humanity becoming part of a blissful hivemind that wants the few stragglers left to join them, and then episode four smashes a barrel over your head with the realization that for carol, the entire world has suddenly reverted into what was the worst experience of her life. a conversion camp full of saccharine smiles with the sole purpose of making her assimilate. fuck

the entire kusimayu scene was devastating but to me the worst part was that by Joining she not only lost her individuality but her culture died with her. immediately the hivemind stopped chanting and singing and speaking the quechuan language and rolled up their blankets and packed up their things and walked away. the animals were set free and the goat that kusimayu had been cradling so lovingly just minutes earlier chased after the hivemind wearing kusimayu's body and bleated for attention and love and got none because there is no one left to care specifically enough to give it.
