I've got to look up every possible way to sew hidden, concealed and non-obvious pockets and other such storage caches in all of my clothing, and then have as many of those as I can fit in every item in my wardrobe. Trying to get as much hidden storage space on my person as possible. Carrying around a backpack's worth of shit without carrying a bag of any sort.
Getting bored while waiting for the bus and just casually pulling a goddamn sewing kit out of my sleeve to start doing needlework on my jeans, like hey hold on where the fuck did you just pull that shit from. Equipping shit from my secret inventory.
Hammer space but it's a pocket specifically located on your left calf. Neat :D
call me crazy but i think public transportation should explicitly also be for actively drunk/high people. so they donβt, you know, drive under the influence.
i literally donβt care how afraid you are of drunk people. if theyβre behaving well enough then thereβs no reason to kick them off the bus.
if you canβt recognize itβs better for society for drunk people to have a way home that doesnβt involve them driving and potentially getting people killed then you just kind of suck actually.
also people should be allowed to sleep in their cars. even if drunk. even if parked in a place of business. even if they live in their cars. lots of people drive when tired or intoxicated because if they stay where they are they're more likely to get caught and driving literally gives them a better chance of getting home without trouble, which does a lot to counteract the risk of worse consequences they're courting to do so.
when people are tired or confused or not thinking well (as happens when intoxicated) often the primary priority is to get home to a place where they can safely rest. if you let them treat their vehicle as home for the purposes of getting to where they can do that, then you will have people sleeping it off in restaurant and bar parking lots, and people catching up on their sleep in gas station parking lots, and much fewer of them will be on the roads.
Drugs are morally neutral. Doing or not doing drugs is not an indicator of how good a person is. There are addicts whoβd give you the shirt off their back, and sober people who poison the homeless for fun.
otherwise interesting post ruined by the bold insistence that you can never accidentally abuse someone & that all abusive people are self-aware evil masterminds
I don't think my parents are aware that what they did was abuse. in fact I think one of the reasons they abused me was because they lacked the self-awareness, introspection, and education needed to realize what they were doing counted as abuse. if they did have more self awareness &etc, they would have likely stopped. it is not productive to insist they woke up in the mornings with the intent to psychologically torture a kid for no reason, when that is self-evidently not the case or within their motivations.
I'm speaking annecdotally here but I think many cases of abuse are like this. I think when reckoning with the reality of how abuse functions in our society, you must come to terms with the mundanity of it including the fact that abusive people are primed to overlook the harm of their own actions through the shield of mundanity and (lack of) intent.

Big fan of βBetter late than neverβ and βBetter a little than noneβ when it comes to things that I know are good for me. It is doing the things that matter, in whatever capacity you can, cause letβs face it: Sometimes you have been doing so badly that doing anything at all is a huge win and something that takes a lot. Sometimes you have been doing some other things and sometimes you are just so so exhausted. A little bit matters, doing it later than ideal or planned matters, being kind to yourself matters. πΈ
can not recommend letting your child do a big scream when they are frustrated enough. Just straight up ask them like "hey do you need to do a big scream?" And if they say yes let cover your ears and say okay GO and let them scream because you know what eventually when you're really frustrated your little person with your face is gonna look at you with their ears covered and yell "HEY DO YOU NEED TA DO A BIG SCHREAM?!" and you can just... do a big scream and it won't scare them and you will feel better too
Women can write m/m. Men can write f/f. Asexuals can write filthy smut. Lesbians and gay men can write m/f. It's all arbitrary anyway. Who give a shit.
"Oh but they don't have an experience of-" I don't have any experience committing or solving murders either but that's still mostly what I read and write about.

The European Union already forced Apple to abandon its proprietary charging port and adopt USB-C across its entire iPhone lineup. It just did something bigger. A new EU mandate requires every smartphone sold in Europe including Apple devices to feature a battery that can be replaced by the user without specialist tools, without voiding a warranty, and without sending the device to a manufacturer approved service center. Batteries must maintain a minimum capacity threshold after a set number of charge cycles and replacement parts must remain available for up to ten years after a model goes on sale.
The consumer electronics industry built its current business model around batteries that degrade, cannot be replaced at home, and create a natural upgrade cycle every two to three years. The EU just legislated that model out of existence in the world's largest regulatory market.
Apple, Samsung, and every other manufacturer now faces a choice between redesigning their devices for the European market or accepting that their current hardware architecture is no longer legally sellable there.
Given that no company walks away from European consumers voluntarily the phones are going to change and once they change for Europe the rest of the world will ask why theirs still do not.

This sick bleach shirt I made. Something to showcase my undying love for prehistoric cave art.
Some of the bleach burned thru the shirt bc this was my first time bleaching anything ever, but it kinda adds to it.
alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

btw I've found these stretches from the WAK blog very helpful when knitting a lot:
Plus make sure to take breaks regularly - and stop if anything starts to hurt!
especially with gift knitting I know it can be tempting to push through it for a deadline, but it's really not worth causing long term injury. (And anyone knit-worthy should be understanding of that, imho.) Stay well :)
keep hands healthy! stretch before crafting!!
