She doesn't mean it she's just a bit stressed at the moment
Remember when Xbox was going to basically ban used games for the xbox one, and Playstation made fun of them with that video titled "how to share games on Playstation" and it was just one guy handing another a game disk? And now Playstation is getting rid of physical disks entirely
Day 658 + 1036 of posting Aphmau memes till MyStreet season 7 comes out | What's this? 2 Vylad memes in a row?!
frodo getting criticized for decades for not doing much / not being a hero compared to sam is fitting when you consider mental health and strength is often trivialized. frodo carried the most dangerous and insidious item in middle earth for YEARS. ancient beings (elves, gandalf, etc) were taunted and tempted by it. boromir was corrupted within weeks without even touching it. men and hobbits turned against their brethren for it. killed for it. and frodo, with a wound from a morgul knife, bore it’s weight when no one else could. had it been anyone else, middle earth would have fallen.
no, he couldn’t have done it without his samwise. but isn’t that a lesson in itself?

I lowkey wonder if Lila wrote the letter to Adrien and not Gabriel. That has to be way out of the realm of possibility though right? Right?!
Gale talks: America
Its America's 250th birthday. Its the Fourth of July and I am going to say something.
I am Proud to be an American.
America is a great country. it has great people and it comes with Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
I am the child of immigrants who came and had their American Dream.
Is America perfect? No, not even close. And no country is.
Has America done some shady s***? Yes, EVERY country has their share of shady crap. America is one of the few places people can speak up about it though.
Do I agree with everything my govt does? Of course not. If you do you are an idiot. And there has been some questionable s***
But I can say that I would rather be here than anywhere else, and I have traveled all over the world so I dont say what I say from a place of ignorance. I say it as someone who knows.
And seeing the World cup here and seeing the unity and community from people coming to this country and seeing the great things about this country I love, seeing the truth that america doesnt suck. (Its just the politics and bulls*** that all the countries talk about) The people here are mostly good people, just like with all other countries. And we got RANCH.
So I say HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY AMERICA and happy 250th birthday, from the penguin that loves this country despite how negative some people online are about it. Here you are free to say what you want, and live as free as one can.

The current Miraculous Ladybug fandom discourse is just wild to me. Personally, I love season 6. I love the big lie. I love how Marinette is put through the wringer by her own choices. I love the drama, the pain, the anxiety, the potential heartbreak, the wrong choices, the flawed yet understandable motivations. To me this is a really interesting story, one we as a fandom should be celebrating.
But then the fandom discourse is dominated by people saying, "I think Marinette is making wrong choices here and I hate it", and responses to that. The positive views are mostly people defending the show instead of praising it. Long essays explaining why Marinette's actions are wrong but make sense in the context of her personality and motivations, which is literally what the show itself tells us as well. These are good essays but it's crazy to me that they're necessary.
Don't get me wrong, everybody is free to dislike the season for any or no reason at all. I'm just baffled by the ratio of hate to love I'm seeing.
Random aside: There's this post I saw a while ago that won't leave my brain, where someone argued, "if you love Marinette you have to hate the current storyline. Otherwise you don't love her, you just love drama." I'm still not sure I can fully wrap my head around that argument. Marinette is… not real, right? She's a fictional character designed to be endearing and a vehicle for interesting stories, and as of season 6, she's doing both perfectly. You're free to disagree of course, but the whole idea that there's a tension here between liking Marinette and liking drama, it just baffles me.
Season 6 is genuinely very good (except perhaps for the first few episodes). It looks great and it tackles more serious topics in a kid-friendly way and generally does this well, whether it's about online hate, dealing with autism, parents who don't get along, struggling with insecurity, and of course grief. And inside that all Marinette is getting the most interesting story of all and I genuinely love it. I'm not a season 6 apologist, I'm a proud season 6 fan.
I do somewhat agree with this. This season has some really interesting storylines, both for individual characters and for Marinette (though not as much for Adrien? Even though this is about him, it doesn't feel like his actual feelings and perspective gets much focus). The drama concerning the Lie and Marinette slowly breaking down over it has been building pretty well.
...but a lot is going to depend on how the Lie situation is resolved. It's got a lot in common with the Ladynoir Conflict in season 4, since Marinette was also feeling a bunch of pressure there and keeping secrets and outright lying to Chat Noir, and even manipulating him in Ephemeral in order to control his potential response to her asking him to reveal his identity to someone else. Which was supposed to be for his own good, but it was robbing him of the opportunity to make decisions concerning himself, FOR himself. Which is also happening with the Big Lie in season 6. So a lot of the frustration here is due to Marinette seemingly not learning anything from season 4, and a fear that this storyline will peter out with a whimper, like the Ladynoir Conflict did.

COME GET YOUR BADGE
i know i must have reblogged this one million times before but i cannot fucking find it so here it is again
I'm trying my hardest not to be mean to Marinette about Riginarazione (2026), because the episode would've been excellent in any other context. A children's show that teaches about the importance of grief, acceptance, and letting go. I'm sure there are many young children who are the actual target demographic of Miraculous dealing with familial heartbreak who have found consolation in Miraculous' representation. I have no particular feelings for Rolland, but the montage of his house emptying paired with the nostalgic melody was very emotional.
But the thing is, the episode doesn't exist in a vacuum, it has context, and the context is that the writers choose to focus on Marinette's pain for a tragic yet predictable bereavement where she is surrounded by a healthy support system in an understanding domestic environment, being comforted by the boyfriend she is actively gaslighting and manipulating.
Adrien was so kind and empathetic to Marinette in this episode; he lets her feel what she needs to feel, he doesn't push her to give more than she's ready to give, and he stands by in an encouraging, supportive role rather than seizing control of the situation. " You don't have to tell me what's wrong if you don't want to. [...] You can cry as much as you need. [...] How was it, by the way?"
Then you compare their situations, how Adrien has lost all the members of his immediate family, how Marinette knows everything he doesn't, and how she's the main puppet-master pulling all the secret strings in his life taking over the role his father vacated. Adrien isn't allowed to grieve properly, to seek other resources, to reflect without judgement, because Marinette is desperately possessive of him. When he made friends with a new girl (change, change is good for grieving people and he met Sublime while trying out a new active hobby), Marinette stalked both of them to make sure there was nothing funny going on. When Adrien recall how terrible and abusive his father was, Marinette lies to him in an attempt to change his mind. When Adrien considers seeking a therapist, Marinette immediately tries to shut that down, preventing Adrien from building a proper (and professional) support system and make Adrien wholly dependent on her: "You can talk to me about him, right? [...] I help him! I'm his girlfriend, you know."
It's one thing for Marinette to be the main character of the show, but it's another thing to make her the main character of someone else's pain. No matter what Gabriel put Adrien through, Marinette will - with tear-filled eyes while consistently suffering in private, making sure to let the audience see how much she doesn't want to this as if she truly doesn't have a choice, as if she's not the most powerful superhero in Paris – continue his work.
It's just a jaw-dropping moment to see that after everything Marinette has done to Adrien in the name of 'love', he still comforted her during a hard time and Marinette actually had the audacity to accept his comfort as if she deserves it. It's extraordinarily tragic that Marinette is dealing with a dying grandfather, but making Adrien her emotional crutch in a case of bereavement is genuinely so cruel and perverse.
This universe is stretching the limits of what is reasonable, even in cartoon physics. The scale of the lies and isolation that Marinette put Adrien through is grounds for never seeing each other again at the minimum. I swear to God, when the Big Lie is finally exposed and Adrien still chooses to forgive Marinette and stays with her (honestly the most likely outcome), I might actually lose it.
I feel like the child experimentation that Travis, Garroth and Katelyn were put through as kids and just the entire lore and story surrounding that is not talked about NEARLY enough in this fandom even though it’s such a huge, interesting and IMPORTANT part of the plot and the characters
Like it’s so interesting for me to think about, there’s so much you can do with that
I dont rly understand how he functions with night vision on. like I'm assuming its only activated when dark (??) but in dark castle it seemed maybe a bit foggy at best... isn't it hard to see ðŸ˜
sorry if this is incoherent I just had some joke to make about him not being able to distinguish colors with it on but couldnt think of a good excuse to make it fit 😬 clearly im not a writer LMAO

People who know/knew Marinette is Ladybug: Alya, Luka, Gabriel, Nathalie, Kagami, Felix.
People who suspect it: Lila.
People who know Gabriel was Monarch and that Ladybug is lying: Nathalie, Tomoe (everyone in that cult), Kagami, Felix, Amélie, Lila.
