Today in Bologna two Italian policemen killed Abderrahim Fakir, a 43 year old man who was pepper sprayed, beaten up, tied and then suffocated to death. First responders on the scene just watched without intervening as he asked for help.

This is a tragedy.

Italy actively, shamelessly encourages and executes violence and murder of non white people.

The country needs to burn.

Ultimately everyone should have veganism as their end goal, but you NEED to start somewhere! You cannot achieve any goal if you just do nothing!

I agree, except that SOMETIMES local meat or animal/dairy products are more eco friendly than imported whatever or another. Not to mention the money aspect, not to mention people who have health issues that require particular diets.

yeah, as a current vegetarian i'd also rather eat eggs from grandma's farm rather than fruit from the other side of the world. of course health issues are valid, the point is making lifestyle changes that are possible in one's individual context, no matter how small.

as for the price aspect, i've found quality meat is much more expensive than beans and soy chunks where i get most of my protein (so much so my mom sees lentils as 'poor people food' and suspects i'm secretly broke cause i eat them lol). as of low quality processed 'meat' with all types of additives in it, we're better off without it anyways.

No, local meat isn't more eco friendly than imported plant products. Meat and dairy are so abysmal for the environment that even plant products sent from the other side of the world generally have a significantly lower footprint.

i cant take anthropocentrists seriously when they say killed farm animals are sacrificing their lives

to sacrifice means to give up something something for the sake of something else. these animals arent giving anything, youre taking their lives from them

no animal walks willingly to their death and even in self proclaimed "humane" slaughter, animals have to be wrestled down while they are very visibly fighting to stay alive. dont get me started on how much animal farmers and their defenders water down terms like humane
