Sawamura Daichi is a father now 

In his own defense, Daichi only saw one kitten. 

With a tender smile on his face, he took the milk carton he should have given Kageyama and gave the little animal a taste. Because the kitten looked helpless, cold and lost. 

The rest of them came like a wave. A whole tsunami of kittens. All meowing, pleading, being very cute.

“Oh, no,” he said to himself as he fed them all that day. And the next. And the following day too.

It is no wonder, then, that the kittens follow him around. 

“I didn’t ask for this!” he screams to coach Ukai, who is currenty playing around with the tuxedo kitten.

“Sawamura, accept your fate,” he answers, smiling. 

Daichi has bought them a ball that emits a rattling sound to keep the kittens entertained during practice. 

He has also named them, though he will not admit this to anyone but Sugawara. 

The subcaptain of the team has seen Daichi using the cutest baby voice when playing with the kittens and secretly took a video. Suga trusts the day he unearths this information will never come.

Daichi is afraid his teammates will adopt his children kittens. 

He is also afraid his kittens will grow up and leave him. What does one do without 10 kittens waiting for him at his doorstep?

Thus far, the kittens have:

made Tsukishima smile (a feat).

made Takeda-sensei and Yamaguchi cry (NOT a feat because they are cute).

climbed Nishinoya, and he laughed (but he was also tearing up—he should, they really are cute).

bitten Hinata (the orange kitten, ironically).

run away from Kageyama’s intense stare (no surprises).

used Suga as their bed (Daichi suspects Suga gives the best pats).

chased Asahi around (reasons and objective unknown).

“What can I say?” Daichi normally smiles when he talks about the kittens. “They are wild.”

“You never talk about us this way!” Tanaka complains.

Sugawara Koushi commands a murder of crows

Suga was not jealous of Daichi’s children kittens because he has been a CommanderTM for a year. 

He’s been patiently feeding and pampering the murder of crows that terrorised the neighbourhood in hopes that they would leave his house alone. 

And they did. In fact, for every gift he gave the crows, he received something in return: a cute rock, a shiny crystal, a pen someone had lost and, when he was lucky, a 500 yen coin. 

He started naming them—they started responding. Not just that, they started escorting him like bodyguards. Everywhere he goes, there’s a crow nearby, making sure he is still alive and safe. 

Kuro-chan is the friendliest crow to humans, by far. He likes Suga’s head scratches, sits on his head when he pleases and considers himself the boy’s second in command. 

Tanaka was laughing when he saw Suga arrive to practice with a crow on his head: “Suga-san, is this your new hairstyle? A bully? What is happening?”

Koushi smiled and said: “Meet Kuro-chan, my right hand bird. He’s the murder’s leader, I suppose.” And the crow fluffed itself up in a gesture that Tanaka and Noya found cute, but Suga understood as territorial.

The crows never really do much to the team, just observe them. Those birds have recognised the Karasuno members as Sugawara’s family.

Hinata greets them and they caw back happily.

They LIKE Kageyama. They engage in intense staring contests. The crows normally win because their caws always catch Kageyama off guard. 

Noya has dueled them. They won, but Yuu was cool about it. Asahi, on the contrary, was scared to death. Suga still thinks it wasn’t a big deal, just a few pecks on Noya’s ass.

They talk to Tsukishima. Suga has no clue what they caw-caw about so much but Kei seems to understand. He listens, nods and continues his with life. 

In general, Suga adores his crows. Even the human ones. 

Azumane Asahi cannot handle his rabbits cuteness

It was a birthday present: a small, round and brown rabbit. Barely old enough to pay rent (which she doesn’t do, of course). Her ears fall off the sides of her tiny head and sometimes she steps on them.

This cute thing’s name is Maru. Asahi calls her Maru-chan and cries every time he holds her. 

Maru-chan thinks she must have done something wrong, that her existence may be cursed. But still, she loves her Asahi: a big human with a big heart.

He took her to practice once and the rabbit was immediately scared of Kageyama. She tried to bury her face between Asahi’s fingers.  

Daichi’s kittens tried to play with her. Nishinoya saved her. Now she likes him.

Suga smiled and gave her head pats. She likes him too. 

“She jumps higher than Hinata,” Kageyama said as the rabbit jumped around. 

“Impossible. Maru-chan, let’s compete!”

"Stop scaring her!" Asahi can and will faint.

Maru-chan enjoyed her evening with the team. She looks forward to her next visit so she can beat Hinata at jumping again. 

Nishinoya Yu and a lizard found each other and now it’s everyone’s problem

The lizard’s name is Thunder (of course) and Nishinoya found her in the classroom windowsill. 

Noya thought the lizard was cool: brown to green scales, big brownish eyes, long tail, cool and sharp claws and a funny tongue. He took her in, put her in his breast pocket and showed her to Tanaka during recess. 

Tanaka also thought the lizard was cool. He should have known better.

Thunder bites EVERYONE for fun. Her bites don’t hurt at all, but it is shocking to have a lizard hanging off your finger, I guess. 

She is a ninja. Everything is her territory. Thunder enjoys roaming around Noya’s clothes as much as she enjoys startling people by appearing in their clothes too.  You are walking next to Nishinoya, then you blink and a lizard is on your clothes now. Yachi has almost had 20 heart attacks. 

Thunder also steals small objects from the team members (never Tsukishima, though) and misplaces them. 

She also plays volleyball. They all let her think she does. Enjoys rolling in volley balls endlessly. 

Ever since she has befriended Nishinoya, no insects have entered the gym. 

Nishinoya adores his Thunder. The lizard adores her Noya. 

Kageyama ended up befriending her too. 

Hinata was traumatised the day Thunder decided to land flat on his face. She was resting on Tsukishima’s shoulder, saw Hinata and just... jumped at him. 

Noya laughed and gave her a kiss because she deserved it. 

Daichi has a soft spot for Thunder because she looks very cute when she climbs the ball and rolls on it. He thinks, however, that Suga should stop pampering and encouraging her. 

Yamaguchi Tadashi found himself an emotional support baby duck 

Look, the baby duck chose him. He could have chosen Tsukki, but didn't.

Yamaguchi was not aware at first that there was a baby duck following him around until he heard a very soft quack. He turned around and this very vulnerable and small creature was following him as if he was worthy of his trust. 

“What do I do?” He nervously asked Tsukki.

“It’s a duckling, Yamaguchi.” Kei explained, matter-of-factly. “If it’s following you, that means you are his mama and you must take care of him until he grows up.”

And he did. The baby duck’s name is Hiro and he is happy, because Yamaguchi treats him well yet...:

He contemplates life and the passing of time with Tsukishima. 

He ignores Hinata, Kageyama, Noya and Tanaka’s attempts to play with him. 

He just sits through practice (around Kiyoko) and only plays at home with Yamaguchi.

He once gave Yachi a flower.

Hiro only acknowledges the presence of Daichi and Ennoshita. Sometimes, even reacts to Sugawara, but that’s rare.

The other pets don’t scare him. In fact, he doesn’t care about them.

He just sits. 

“He is more excited at home, I swear. We play catch and he dances a bit to music when Tsukki plays it for us,” Yamaguchi apologises. 

“Maybe he is shy?” Noya suggested. “I’ll impress him with my receives!”

Spoiler: he did not. 

Hiro is only interested in parental figures, apparently. 

Tsukishima Kei’s new neighbour is a magpie

You thought the crows talked to Tsukishima because he is a very sociable teenager? No. They know about Mimi-chan. 

Mimi-chan is Tsukishima’s stalker. She enjoys the music Kei selects and is often perched on the tree near his bedroom to observe him carefully. 

Tsukishima doesn’t talk about her to his teammates because that would reveal the fact that he has:

fed her.

pet her.

smiled at her.

looked adoringly at her.

trash-talked about every human being to her.

studied aloud so she could listen.

waited for her to peck the crystal every day, because his whole life depends on her coming to visit him.

Yamaguchi knows she exists, though, so he is not fully safe.

Tadashi thinks this magpie is Tsukishima’s psychologist. Facts.

Hinata Shoyo is terrorised by a squirrel

Natsu didn’t know what she was doing when she rescued this cursed creature. She named the squirrel Chippi and the name was so horrible to Hinata that he understood why that thing behaved even worse than Noya’s lizard.

Chippi the squirrel only wants Hinata’s attention the same way he has Natsu’s. He has tried everything:

He peed on Hinata’s papers because the boy suffers every time he writes on them.

He sleeps on his clothes to show his care and respect for him and his impressive jumps. But then Shoyo complains about his fur being everywhere…

He even went so far as to give him kisses and Shoyo screamed because he thought Chippi was biting him

But Chippi is unstoppable. Today, he is hidden between his clothes and he will go to this school-thing. He will support Hinata in his day-long journey to the place that smells funny.

Hinata was terrified and shrieked when he saw Chippi in his school bag. But now he has to put up with him. “Please, don’t misbehave. Here, chew on my rubber.”

Chippi chewed on the rubber obediently. And then on the pencil. He preferred the wooden texture, actually. 

Kageyama eyed the squirrel the same way he eyed the volley balls. “Why? Why do animals choose you all but they all hate me?”

Oh, Chippi understood the hurt in Kageyama’s voice. 

During practice, Daichi was tired of animals but welcomed the squirrel. “One more won’t hurt.”

Chippi felt so liked he didn’t pee on anything or anyone. He jumped around, played with the kittens and almost forgot one of his hind legs still hurt a little. 

“Today, Chippi has been nice. I wish he was like this every day,” Hinata sighed. 

Ah, so that was it. No kisses, no piss and no sleeping on his things, just chewing on the things he liked and frolicking. That sounded good. 

To Hinata, though, that sounded like they still needed to improve their relationship.

Tanaka Ryunosuke’s misfortune becomes Ennoshita Chikara’s problem

Pets were scarier than Saeko. 

The kittens licked him. All of them at once assaulted his face. It felt horrible, though they meant no harm. Daichi apologised but it was not his fault. 

Some geese had pecked his ass and legs until Dateko’s Aone appeared like a saviour. Futakuchi laughed like the hyena he is but still tried his best to comfort Tanaka after the attack.

“Your testosterone must have triggered some self-defense mechanism,” Futakuchi guessed. 

That was ominous. 

Since then, Thunder’s been biting him non-stop and climbing on his clothes. Her long claws have left scratch marks on his skin that Ennoshita’s been treating carefully.

Thunder likes him, though. That’s the worst part. She means no harm. She brings him Ennoshita’s wallet and coins she finds so that he can buy himself a nice snack. 

Chikara laughs and treats him to ice-cream.

Chippi the squirrel bit his finger. To this day, Tanaka thinks it was an accident, because he was not paying attention to where his fingers were stroking the animal, but truth be told, it still hurt him. 

He didn’t tell Hinata, only Kiyoko and Ennoshita saw the incident and helped him. The squirrel seemed sad, though. He probably meant no harm. 

The one that meant the harm was the crow. He dropped a coin on Tanaka’s head. And then cawed, laughing. Suga said crows are untameable and treated him to nikuman the next day. So he didn’t complain. 

Ah, and there is this hawk that stares at him. Tanaka thinks it is always the same hawk because he has seen it perched on Kyotani’s shoulder and rubbing its face at his cheek amicably. 

The hawk knows he saw it giving affection to Kyotani and now it seems afraid Tanaka may share this information. He will not, of course. That made his heart melt. 

The worst part was that, ever since pets started taking over Karasuno, Ennoshita has spent half of his allowance on a first aid kit for Tanaka. 

BONUS: Kageyama Tobio’s redemption

Daichi couldn’t really believe this kitten. Was it the power of milk, he wondered. Was it that its smell got stuck into Kageyama’s persona upon excessive consumption? 

They would never know the truth, but this first kitten to whom Daichi had first offered milk looked apologetically at Daichi in Kageyama’s arms. 

Kageyama Tobio was almost tearing up. This kitten had chosen him. Take this, Hinata! 

“You take good care of little Hajime, or else…” Daichi’s aura darkened and Kageyama felt less joyous now. 

He bowed, the perfect picture of respect and commitment. “I will, Sawamura-san.”

If Konoha’s Princess knew how little Hajime is treated in Kageyama’s house, she would feel jealous but alas, she does not know.
