Hi Everyone,

I was recently accepted into a selective online speculative fiction workshop where I'll have the opportunity to workshop my novel with acclaimed speculative fiction author Megan Giddings. Because the organization hasn't made its public announcement yet, I'm keeping the name of the workshop private for now but it's one I have been applying to for some years and I finally got in.

Unfortunately, I wasn't awarded financial assistance even though I applied for a scholarship. The good news is that a very generous friend has offered to cover my $300 deposit, so now I'm trying to raise the remaining $500 needed for tuition.

I have to accept my spot and pay the deposit by July 17, and the remaining tuition is due by August 21, so it's a pretty tight timeline.

Thanks to an incredibly generous friend and former co-worker, my workshop tuition has been fully funded. That means I'll officially be attending the speculative fiction workshop this fall and workshopping my novel with Megan Giddings.

I'm still keeping the name of the program under wraps until they make their public announcement, but I wanted to let everyone know that I get to say yes to an opportunity that I honestly thought I was going to have to turn down.😊
