Taking this time to express a personal photo. This is my mother, Puerto Rican. She told me something so heart breaking. She as an “American” in a country where we are so versatile and are supposed to be “free”! It hurts to know that racial slurs are thrown her direction just because of the color of her skin. My father was my complexion, they didn’t see color as an issue. What hurts more is that I can’t protect her if someone was to come out stupid. I normally stay neutral when it comes to things like this, but this world needs to get it together.
