a headcanon is a fact that you have personally made up as an elaboration of canon. it is your invention. e.g. i think morgana and gwen had a teenage lesbian situationship before the events of canon. or, i think modern morgana would love evanesence.
an interpretation is how one reads the existing text. it is not an invented fact nor is it a headcanon, it is a reading. e.g. i think merlin tries to poison morgana out of misplaced self-hatred. or, i think that one line was delivered with suppressed malice and shows a nuanced relationship.
fanon is the general fandom’s accepted headcanons and interpretations that elaborate or recontextualize canon. e.g. merlin is a badass waif and morgana is a bitch.
these are all different words with different meanings.

Typical Disney-style story of a kingdom with an anxious new ruler whose inherited chief advisor has a goatee, dresses in black and red, smirks a lot and keeps a snake as a pet.
Every single villanous plot to overthrow the kind and ”weak” ruler fail because the advisor is 110% loyal but his vibes make all the baddies assume he’ll help out in the insidious coup plan so they recruit him, and he absolutely delights in puppeteering wannabe autocrats into digging their own graves. There is one very important thing I need people without major dietary restrictions to understand: the distress caused by allergies, celiac disease, and other food restrictions is largely not about the food.
Do I miss some foods I can't eat anymore without getting sick? Sure, but that's not what really bothers me. What bothers me is being excluded from a huge portion of human social life of which food is a crucial component. What bothers me is the stress and social stigma of trying to figure out what I can safely eat. What bothers me is the amount of extra work and cost that is required of me to identify, obtain, and prepare safe foods. What bothers me is people treating my needs like a nuisance, as though I chose to be like this - as though their brief inconvenience to check an ingredients list is unreasonable, when I deal with this every day of my life forever.
I don't miss the food that much. I miss not having to worry about what I eat. I miss freedom. I miss when trying new foods and new restaurants was fun instead of a minefield. I miss not having to plan my entire life around the need for safe foods.
Food is such a basic human need, and a lot of people don't really need to think about it. When your danger foods can be anywhere and everywhere, suddenly your entire life revolves around avoiding them, and it massively sucks. You get used to it and it's not a big deal most of the time, but then you go to a new restaurant, or your office has a potluck, or you've been invited to a party and suddenly it feels just as miserable and exhausting as it ever has.
I feel this so, so hard. I am lucky enough to not have food allergies. But I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes two years ago and suddenly I had to think really hard about everything I ate.
Honestly, I adjusted to that fairly easily. I'd say I'm lucky in my body-things might go wrong, but they're not difficult to get right. I can get by with medication and balancing the protein and fiber in my meals. The level of better I felt just being treated for the thing slowly killing me is wild.
But I am a baker. I frost cakes for a fucking living, I lead a whole team dedicated to making foods made out of fucking sugar and flour. I am proud of the skills I've built and the job I do. Suddenly I have to choose between doing my job properly and making myself fucking ill. I'm at work trying to figure out what went wrong with these cookies and mentally I'm wondering if I'm going to lose my eyesight or the nerves in my feet first. I counted once- my kitchen uses seven different kinds of sugar.
My mother made homemade chex mix for christmas last year. My coworkers bring donuts and homemade treats for fun. Hell, I do. I love trying to make new treats and foisting them on my coworkers. I can't eat them.
Hell, even just now some cute neighborhood kids knocked on my door selling snacks to raise money. What am I supposed to say? Sorry, kiddo, I can't eat any of that? Of course I bought the snacks. Do you realize how many staple foods are entirely made of carbs? Potatoes. Bread. Chips. Pizza, pasta, dumplings, blahblahblah. Every party food is largely carbs. You have to navigate food like a labyrinth when you're a diabetic, there's only a few safe choices, and they're all so goddamn expensive. And this is just... my life now.
Google starts showing diabetes cure snake oil ads and Amazon noticed you ordered testing supplies, wouldn't you like to try their pharmacy? So, so, many GLP-1 advertisements.
I just want to eat a slice of fucking cake.

LOL, I actually feel the opposite? I have more control over what goes in my body, and it's difficult for other people to cause me harm with food through negligence or malice. My Mom has a severe shellfish allergy. I grew up with that level of caution (and continue in my profession) and some of the things I've heard about as an adult are just... incomprehensible to me. I am so sorry for everyone who has to deal with that.
But you know what's a silly annoyance? As a diabetic, actually a lot of fad diets like Atkins and keto have some basic principles that make them safer for diabetics. I hate fad diets! But the food industry tends to cater to them, so they make safe foods more accessible. RIP to my moral superiority, I guess.
It's weird to say but diabetes is a long-established, well-studied, and common disease that has a concrete method of diagnosis. My local hospital has an entire diabetes department. But yeah, dealing with any chronic disease will fuck you up mentally and I also wish doctors would take that seriously.
Ough, I Feel You about the fad diet thing. I'm gluten free and have this awful love-hate relationship with the fact that it used to be popular as a fad diet - both making safe food more available and ensuring that those of us who need it out of medical necessity will have an even harder time being taken seriously.
Also the dairy allergy has me eating a lot of vegan things. I'm not vegan but it's more common to see vegan labels on a menu than allergen ones.
when i was a teenager i used to catch myself thinking "i'm really glad i'm alive right now because of all the cool personal technologies that exist" and when i did i'd think it through and reckon that well, its not like teenagers in the 70s and 80s knew they didnt have ipods or facebook or whatever. they were also happy with the tech they had. and i'd reason that in the future there would be more fun technologies that i dont know i'm missing out on right now and the future will be an even cooler time to exist
anyway i was dead fucking wrong about that last part. i hate personal technologies now. i miss having an ipod that doesnt advertise shit to me and i miss when my htc wildfire didnt harass me 45 times a day to install an ai assistant and then install it anyway when i say no and i miss when the internet wasnt 5 websites all of which i have to log into and i miss when i didnt need an app to talk to my landlord. sorry past me you were actually right about 2009

I have a big folder on my desktop of inspirational pictures/memes/etc to keep me going so I shall share them with you here.
today I learned that in 2008, the city council of florence overturned dante’s sentence of execution if he returned from exile. yes, dante’s inferno dante, who died in 1321.
but the funniest part of this is not that they were debating the exile of a man who has been dead for over 500 years.
the funniest part is that the vote was 19-5. five people voted to uphold dante’s exile.
The objectively funniest part of this is actually that the city that holds his remains, Ravenna, refused to give his remains back. This was a ploy from florence to have his remains moved back for the tourist money and its been ongoing for a long time. Florence had a fake tomb built in the city to trick people into visiting, and have tried to force the return of the remains.
His actual caretakers have been very steadfast in keeping them hidden, moved, or generally out of reach to respect his choice in life to never, ever, ever return to florence, even when he was first offered the chance to return. This is at this point an almost millenium long feud that florence is really, really mad about losing
