Fandom Does Tzedakah 2026!
I am so excited to participate this year in @fandomdoestzedakah!
You can learn more about it here, but basically, people "bid" on different stuff by promising to donate their "bid" amount to various Jewish organizations striving to make the world a better place. The highest bidder gets a thank-you gift, like fanfic or fan art, or, in my case, my lovely beta-reading services!
I specialize in characterization and plot development, but will catch grammar errors and typos as I see them, might make the occasional suggestion for tweaking phrasing, and will 100% let you know what I love. My commitment is 5k up to 40k (you can see my offering for more details here), but if I fall in love with a fic, I will probably be down for the whole adventure.
Browsing is open as are my askbox and DMs! It can be nerve-racking working with someone, so I want to take the stress out of it. Ask away so you know if this is something you might want to bid on. I am officially doing MCU, Transformers, post-crisis universe Batman and the Animated Series, and Star Wars. But if you are writing for a different fandom you think I might have reblogged/posted about, ask, and I might be willing to beta for it.
I am hoping to raise funds for a variety of organizations, but I am most passionate about "I Was Supposed to Have a Baby" which aims to help those in the Jewish community who are struggling with fertility and loss. In my family, my mom had several miscarriages and one stillbirth. They were hard losses to mourn. How do you explain that you only knew about the pregnancy for a week, but you're still devastated by the loss? I want to support those who are mourning their own miscarriages and stillbirths.
