[little bit of a rant/ramble here]

So I've come to the realization that a lot of my family members would actually be more okay with me being a lesbian/bisexual in the future than they would with me being happily single (or, god forbid according to them, aromantic).

Like they'll update some of their sayings: "when your future boyfriend/husband—or girlfriend I guess" or "you'll find your person, whether they're a male or a female" and "when you finally date someone, I don't care if they're a girl". Originally, I considered it a win, because they'd never even considered that before.

[Honestly I doubt that they'd actually be okay with it, but they're trying, so I appreciate it.]

But as soon as I suggest not having "my person" (or say it could be platonic) they just go on about how that's sad, impossible, immature, etc. Then they end the conversation with some statement about my future spouse.

Anyone else have this kind of thing where their family is okay with only specific sexualities and not other ones?

One of the most awkward things is when you're watching a movie with someone and then a sex scene comes on.

Especially if it's with your parent, because then they just stare at you and it's like man I didn't orchestrate this don't blame me

And then you have to beg them to fast forward and it's the worst.

Project Hail Mary was the first time I really paid much attention to Ryan Gosling, and the fandom got me into the Goslingverse (I feel like I have a whole list of movies to watch now ngl).

So recently I was watching one of the movies (Lars and the Real Girl) and someone asked me why I was watching that. I completely blanked and just went "Oh cuz Ryland Grace is in it"

They stared at me and then I had to correct myself because Grace is not, in fact, the actor.

Phishing scam attempt encountered! wahoo

A blog named "confirm-page" tagged my sideblog (and various other blogs) in the comments under its post claiming that a "minor anomaly" was detected with my account, telling me to verify my account within 48 hours by clicking a random link.

I did not click the link, of course; I reported the account for phishing and then blocked it. Just wanted to share what it looked like in case anyone else encounters it and isn't sure whether it's legit or not! :)

Tumblr would NOT contact you through tagging you on a post like this (never will); they would contact you privately e.g. via email if there was an issue. If you're unsure of if something is actually from Tumblr, either report it (my preferred method) or look up which email address to contact Tumblr though, and use that to ask them if it's legit or not!

Edit: seems like there are multiple different blogs doing this, so keep an eye out I guess
