I'm going to start with Sunny and do the others in reblogs.
A major feature of the game OMORI is Sunny's Headspace. This is a place where Sunny goes to escape. Inside Headspace is Black Space, a place where Sunny shoves down memories he wants to repress.
The nearest area to Black Space is Deeper Well, where you begin finding these... things. They have names that all are synonyms of "nothing." One of them, Null says this.
Humans are bounded creatures. Your limits are what define you. What makes you human?
While this is referring to Sunny's trauma over Mari's death, Sunny's lack of connection to humanity is interesting in how it can come as a result of many things. Even before Mari's death, he's isolated and not particularly talkative.
Some people have seen his actions as reflective of being neurodivergent or mentally ill, even as child before the traumatic events involving his near death experience in the water, and, of course, Mari's death.
His loss of connection with humanity could be due to the trauma of Mari's death. A symptom of trauma is dissociation. It makes you feel unreal, one person described it as feeling in "doubt [of her] own existence," not feeling like, "either a human being or an animal," and instead "a piece of furniture." Additionally it makes you feel seperate from your enrivornment, including other people.
Now that it's 2026, (literally been writing this for years??) I can finally come to my point: Sunny has otherkin vibes. A lot of neurodivergent trans people are otherkin, source: my friend group when I was 14, it seems to stem from being isolated socially and disconnected from one's body. Which Sunny definitely is.
Also there's a potion in Deeper Well called the Mystery Potion which, when drunk, turns Omori into a girl. And one of the ways off is when Omori looks into a mirror, mirroring how mirrors can trigger dysphoria.
Conclusion: Sunny is trans (and also otherkin lol)
